You know this may come as a bit contradictory but from what I’ve read elsewhere (and state-side forums lol and some oil sites) they performed tests on royal purple and there was two sides… one which said it is ‘good’ but doesnt last more than 2000km-ish, and another which call it utter crap… the marketting i think got to most of us even I remember about 5+ years ago this one shop on speers which had ‘performance mustang’ parts it was railing on and on about royal purple (they were sponsored), and how they are the ‘cheaper redline’.
I just put some amsoil 5w30 into my volvo 850, runs alot smoother and feels like it picked up a lil power.
I’m kind of lazy to dig it up but there was a thread on zilvia about oil and most ppl were saying royal purple was overmaketted rubbish

i do NOT trust royal purple’s engine oil. but their gear oil is wicked. i only use rp in my cars/trucks. my fathers 900hp 2-speed track car has 75w90 rp. never had a problem. same as my 4x4’s and my 240. never ever re-built or blown one of my diffs. tranny…well i’m still looking for the best trans fluid
back to engine oil. spend the 20-30 bucks and just change it every 3-4k. problem solved.
