Project progress pics and teaser (everyone loves pics)

Some of you may remember my post from the old SON site about my accident, my beloved red S13 got smacked on it’s side. So I began to search for another S13. Unfortunately I couldn’t find a clean red S13 but I did manage to find a black one and began swapping over all my parts and installing all the parts I had ready to go on the red car before it’s accident (the accident happened the day before I was going to install all the extra parts).

The red S13 was stock (rust free)with a redtop SR, 3" exhaust, FMIC, and 180SX side skirts all installed by me with no mechanical knowledge before hand. Learned alot on that car.

Car during accident (memory refresher)…

Now the good stuff…

The new car

My children, what a nice brother “red” is, willing to donate his heart to help the his one year older brother “black”…
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival02.jpg

The brain… the case took a beating from the accident
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival03.jpg

Brain surgery, everything is fine inside and a little surprise was found! an EEPROM emulator daughterboard!!! no wonder i never had that 180km/hr speed cut and the motor felt strong…
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival04.jpg

Dirty ass carpet was pulled
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival05.jpg

Now it will go back in all clean… It’s like brand new second hand!!
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival06.jpg

Since the carpet was out I figured I would dynamat it (cheap alternate stuff I had already)
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival07.jpg

After the dynamat stuff goes the sound deadening foam, no more shitty ass smelling 15 year old sound deading puke
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival08.jpg

Next went on the 300zx front calipers, 5-lug conversion, cross-drilled brembo rotors, new pads, and megan coilovers that never made it on to the red car

THE TEASER, I fell in love with these rims the moment I saw them 2 years ago and chose them for the red car, but they look freakin nice on black also!
http://fpereira.homeip.net/pictures/temp/revival11.jpg

Flushness, picture was brightened up to show better since it is a black car and a night pic. This is with the coilovers installed out of the box with the camber plate up top set to 0. Not insane flushness but it is to my liking.

I have a crap load of pictues and will probably package them all into one post or link them online one day, for now this is all I want to show. I will update this post later with pics of the rims and the car’s stance once it is ready for the road which will hopefully be in a couple weeks. Just in time to drive around for a month and throw the stock suspension and winter tires on

Thanks for looking
All comments good or bad are appreciated

looks good, the speed cut made me wounder, so tomorow first thing im doing is cracking my ecu open to see whats inside. i dont have a speed cut also.
car looks great. good job for no prior experience with the car.

what was the end result with the “red” scenario?

charged with imporper turn? no insurance monies?

Fil the new car looks very clean. nice job on the carpet and 5lug conversion.
keep up the good work, bring it out to the west end meet when it is complete.

Awesome swap and build

I’m looking at upgrading my 89’ stock
to a sweet street machine this coming
summer, great to hear from another
average bro who doesn’t got much
mechanical experience…

so far so good though!

Charged with “change lane not in safety” even though i never changed lanes so I got XCopper fighting that one, will probably get it dropped based on “improper charge”.

No money from insurance as I do not have collision coverage. I had more money invested in to it then they would pay out anyways. It was considered 100% my fault because I was making the left turn regardless of the situation. My premium will raise once my policy renews. Luckily the accident happened 2 days after my policy last renewed so I get 1 full year without my premium going up.

You’re doing a great job man…the new car’s gonna be even better.

Car is on the road!

feels good to be driving an S13 again…

All Done

Let me know what you think

Mmmm very clean!

Tastefully done!

Nice! Now you definitely have to bring the car to Dunnville on Oct 14.

looks good

front could use a 1" drop

Drop front and rear and massive spacers and you are there. Nice looking car!

nice car man, what name are the wheels and spec? looks sick.

Thanks for the comments, keep em coming, I like to hear everyone’s good and bad comments, gives me ideas for teh future

Thanks,
The front and rear height is good for me, I can fit two fingers straight between the tire and fender in the front, and two finger diagonally in the rear. Both are low enough for me.

Thanks,
I like the flushness that it is at now. It is not UBER flush but it is clean flush. The front has the coilover camber setting up top at 0 degrees, if I lower the car another inch up front the tires will hit the fender for sure. The rears don’t look as flush because of the negative camber, some RUCAs in the rear for the future will fix the flushness. I would need to roll my fenders if I got massive spacers and I really don’t want to roll my fenders, just doesn’t appeal to me.

I like my car to be as clean as possible, I will take pics of my interior with the carpet all finished up and S14 cloths, it is pure sex.

I have see a couple clean 240sx’s that have lost all their appeal because of UBER flashness, rolled and pulled fenders (not coming out right), and missing wheel well splash guards up front, i like my splash guards thank you very much.

You didn’t reply to my comment. Bring the car to the track!

Sorry for not replying to your comment…

Can’t go on Oct. 14 :stuck_out_tongue:
I have some family dinner to go to.

You dropped it like 1/4 inch, how much negative camber could you possibly have? :stuck_out_tongue:

Dunno if we looking at the same pictures but thats almost the exact same drop height as the eibach sportline springs and those drop about 2" his front is almost hitting the road coming out of his driveway from the pics.

Your ride height is fine any lower you’ll have a bitch of a time coming in and out everyday.

car looks good

Oh boo! There’s always next time though.

OK, here are some ride height pics and interior shots
