So I ordered V1 today, I guess it was a good decision.
And yes after a week of research I can agree that Cobra is like some dog shit on the floor that has 12V running to it through a wire.
I have Cobra in my car and its ok but after looking though radar tests on http://guysoflidar.com you can see why cobra is just crap.

Don’t feel too bad, I had 2 other cobra radar detectors before this one. And only now I am realizing how crappy Cobras are. It seems they get people to buy their product because of good looks, stupid functions (compass, color screen) and of course 12band detection :headbang you just need to remember that all you actually need is K, Ka, Laser all the other stuff is just useless now.

Most people that buy Cobra radars AKA CRAPras think that just because they have A radar detector that it will save them from anything. Not every cop uses radar. A radar detector is not a cop detector!!!

thats mostly for london/UK. they have the geo coordinates for the speed cameras…you load them into your gps and you can see whenever your coming to a speed trap… it has NOTHING to do with the United States. and there is no “Service” from any gps company, its just that, a rumor.

if you read up on it further, what it actually does is recognize false alarms, mark them on it’s gps, so that it never false alarms there again, however if on that same spot in the future has a new signal, like a cop sitting in a known false parking lot, it will warn you.

I also forgot to mention that depending on what your doing with the car, each has it’s advantages. It’s not a gran turismo world, all cars have the potential to be quick and handle well, and some obviously better than others, but when it comes down to it it’s all about personal preference. Both are very capable platforms if there is a capable driver behind the wheel.

I don’t really care if the rx65 picks up from a slightly longer distance, i have arrows, bogey count, and it prioritzes what signal is coming from where and is the highest threat, no looking around saying where the fuck is that cop, it’s nice to not have to worry about EVERY signal the detector throws out, plus if you turn off x band, which isn’t used except for garage door openers now it eliminates the whole ‘false alarm’ problem with v1

well, not eliminate but it sure helps

i have honestly never really seen 2 separate radar signals at once with any detector, and i have used the v1 before.

the rx doesn’t really “throw out” random alerts when i’m driving. its pretty quiet.

having the ability to turn the x band off is the shit. its fucking annoying, and useless now a days. cops do not use it anymore.

it really has a pretty user friendly operation, which i like.

i’d def. be interested in doing this sometime. it would be pretty cool to have your buddies get in on it too vlad.
