I doubt that driver will ever be convicted. Regardless of who was at fault in the initial accident it isn’t going to take much of a lawyer to convince a jury that the driver felt an immediate and reasonable fear for his/her life once the vehicle is surrounded by 100’s of angry motorcycle riders. The one running up and trying to open the door and get to the driver @5:00 shows that even more, and the end of the video is case closed.

Yep, more on the story here:
The footage shows one motorcyclist brake hard in front the the car and seems to get bumped by it.
He pulled over but some of the bikers started to damage the vehicle. The NYPD spokesman told the Mail Online the driver drove off ‘to avoid an impending assault’.
Quite frankly I’d probably do the exact same thing if I was out in my SUV with my family. NY is very clear on it’s definitely of use of deadly force and this is pretty straightforward case.
100% agree…I’m going to be an asshole then get surprised when somebody doesn’t like it. Even if I’m by myself and I have a group of 50-100 bikers swarming my car, I’d probably high tail it too.
police said the bikers beat the driver up and slashed his face. He was taken to Columbia University Medical Center, where he received stitches for the face wound and was released.
… hitting more Ryderz… A Ryder ran up to get his keys…
I’m sorry, but that SUV driver did not do anything wrong to instigate what happened. The initial incident was 100% the fault of the motorcylist…you can see he is blocking the rover on purpose and slowing down looking back at the driver and all of his biker buddies like it’s funny and then magically blames the driver when he can’t stop quick enough and bumps him? Then everyone else wants to mess the guy up because he bumped the motorcycle? FUCK THAT. Shit like this is literally the reason I don’t own sportbikes and stick to the vintage/custom shit because I hate the way squids form major groups like this and fuck shit up.
From the comments. Every week I read something like this:
These thugs came across 58th St. on Sunday - weaving in and out of traffic, going against the lights (and driving against traffic), and dozens and dozens of them riding on the sidewalks. Not just one lone rider on the sidewalk…dozens. Driving on the sidewalks. I still can’t believe no one else got hurt. After it happened I dug a little online and found only a couple of stories about them terrorizing the residents upper Manhattan in this same manner, and the consensus seems to be that no one knows what to do about it. Why aren’t the police able to do anything when hundreds of them mass together each week at about the same time/generally the same place/doing the same unsafe and/or illegal things?
Though it’s claimed here that one of the motorcyclists was killed, neither the FDNY nor the NYPD press offices have any record of motorcycle fatalities or even injuries. An NYPD spokesman says the driver “inadvertently” struck one of the motorcyclists, “causing no injuries.” Then the motorcyclists allegedly “attacked” the vehicle, and that’s when the driver sped off (at the 30 second mark), “striking more.”
No one on a bike was killed or even injured.
According to an NYPD spokesman, the motorist, identified as an Asian male who was driving with his wife and child, was assaulted at 218th Street, where he was finally forced to stop because his tires were slashed.
That all I kept thinking watching this. Take the highway until you see a state trooper barracks and immediately pull in to the back where they keep their cars. The bikes will not follow.
That’s exactly why I rode with a large local group once and never again. They did the same shit, acted like they owned the road, and the whole time I’m thinking, do these people realize that bike v. car, car wins every time? Hope they all get arrested, go to court and the judge takes away all their licenses.
When the helmet goes in the window and the hand reaches in, after being chased and surrounded by 100+ pissed bikers, slashed tires, with my wife and child in the car… is when the .45 ACP start heading down range.
Not just macho shit, either. I’d legitimately be fearing not only for my own life but for my family’s at that stage. Completely out of choices and cornered - any one of these clowns could have a straight razor or worse.
Sad thing is, majority of those people probably wouldn’t care or don’t have a license to get taken away. I know a handful of people now riding with only a permit and not riding with anyone else at the time.
