I’ve been pulled over, complained because I thought it was BS, but I’ve never really been hassled over shit. Infact most times when I thought I was going to get f’d I got a cool cop and everything went smooth and I barely got anything.
The one thing that I do no matter what, even in winter, that seems to keep things calm right from the start is shutting the car off, and putting the keys on the dash next to the reg sticker. Seems to de-fuse most cops or at least calm them down a little bit. Infact whenever I’ve done this I’ve either gotten the speeding ticket I deserved (not inflated), or either completely let off or written some little bs fix-it or fine ticket.
Most are just doing their jobs. Yes there are the ones who are pricks, but that comes with “power” that they have and it goes to their heads. I also think it has to do with the whole F&F thing right now, all the hot-rod imports/wannabees/ricers are comming outta storage and they’re figuring some easy $$$ making with fines.
When the Firebird was running I used to drive by WS/Cheektowaga/OP/Depew cops with the 20% tinted windows up, t-tops off, and the basically open headers dumped out the sides and none ever did anything more than a slight glance over.
