rb or 13b?

is that a 4th gen i see in your avatar?

their beasts of engines.
do a google search for SR vs 3S
there’s a post in a Nissan forum, and suprising enough, the majority of people that actually have reasons for their vote are for the 3S, if i remember right there’s only 1 or 2 that are using facts of science and such to support their choice of the SR.

Get the RB20, as it isnt common(RB25 is comon), will make loads more power for cheaper(stock ex. manifold is flanged for a T3), and if you get a clip then you will have the stronger skyline tranny to use. I will have an RB20 powered S13 after Xmas hopefully, but it all depends on whether or not I can sell the sentra. $6k for a 400whp clean S13 if all goes as planned.

what if you own an RX-7 AND a 240…does that make you double cool or double played out?

Double cool. Nothing is bandwagon if you beat everyone in your level at the track.

I dont know the Gen of it, but its the 88-89 one. Definitly the most rare of any GT4 alltrac.

I know the 3s’s have made just as much hp as the sr20, its just the 3s’s aren’t as much are as known. The bottom end of the 3s in my celica is MASSIVE and thought to hold 450-470hp with no probs. Its just getting the volumetric efficiency up which is shat stock.

SR20DET can hold 535whp on stock bottom end. RB20 has made I think close to 600whp on stock bottom. I would take an RB20 over all the choices given. $1200 investment on an RB20 could yield ~450whp maybe more(I hope to find out).

well there’s another SR20 vs 3S post in a sr20 forum now
and apparently the sr20 put out over 600hp on stock internals(dont ask me, im not pulling the bs flag though)

anyways, the topic was supposed to be reliable power, so the 3S is rated at 450-500, yet the nissan people are saying the 3S can’t even handle 500 reliably.

The gasket goes out ever 5mins of driving

Wow, I didnt know anyone tried to go beyond the 500’s in an SR20. There hasnt been many poeple to test the max of the RB series engines. They are a little more rare and sometimes too expensive.

oooooooooooooo a 2.0liter 6 cylinder, whoop-dee-fuckin-doo

lmao…flat black geo prizm. :hitit:

ooooooooo 5.0L V8, ooooooooooooooooooo 4.6L V8 oooh ya thats exciting. The difference is the 2.0 inline 6 made 225whp. What does a 5.0 make??? 235 if you are lucky??? They were made in the same time period. I would rather have a 2.0 that can make 500+whp on stock internals. :slap:

then buy an evo and do it with 2.0l and 4 cyl instead

in regards to the 3sgte… i just think there hasnt been enough people doing them to find out how much they really make.

the 3s is more an underground cult motor

the det is just an underground cult motor that gets way more love, thats all…shit, its deserved.

That would cost 100X more and still have more transmission problems. Remember, when you do the RB20 swap you are also swapping in a skyline transmission. This is a RWD setup that has possibilities for a reliable 400+whp, maybe even 500+. Not enough peole have tested it to tell what it will do but they do know it should be stronger than an SR20.

That is true. I know the 3s does have some beefy internals. The RB engines are getting to be a little more popular but the RB20 still seems to be rare.

Probably until more rb20’s get done after beating the 25/26 to death, then will they get recognized…probably by the end of next year is my guess.

my 3s beauts:

whhooooo-weee!

so perdy

not rare, just un attainable at the moment(cost wise and time wise it’s easier for the sr)

but i can assure you that a vast majority wants a supra or skyline after seeing F&F, and the RB20 will not be as rare for long, because hey…they can have part of a skyline now! :stuck_out_tongue:

LOL little do they know that the RB20 wasnt in the GTR skyline that they so love.

Here is a nice big pic of my SR20DET 8.3:1 pistons and rods. They share similar rod size to those 3S you have.
