i am doing research for a project car and am considering a 240. is there anyone in canada that has preformed this piticular swap, sr25 from an r33 skyline into a 240sx? I have researched and found some in the states and over seas, but nun here? this car will probably be used for track use mainly.
The engine u’re refering to is the RB25. This comes straight from an R33 skyline.
For more information, read the current (september) issue of Sports Compact Car. Everything you’ll ever need to know about that swap can be found there.
rb25 or the rb26DETT can be swapped into the s13/s14 chassis without too much hassles.
most important is finding the RWD tranny for these that are 5spd and off a RB25. there are some little specific things that are needed. overall rather expensive swap.

sorry about that. i meant rb instead of sr. i presonally think this would turn the car into something special. i estimate 10 -15k to build a very fast and excellent handeling performance car. what do you all think?
I thought that the diffrence between the rb25 and the rb26 was alot more than just the an extra turbo and 0.1L, correct me if i’m wrong (really, cus I usually am). I thought that the RB26 has a much stronger bottom end than an rb25 and could safely take alot more boost, thus having much higher potential.
Of course buying an rb26 would also cost about three times what an rb25 would cost. I also think that we should clarify that it is the RB25DET that you would want and not just the RB25de since that is the normally aspirated version that came on the later model skyline r32 and all r33 GTS models, you would want the engine out of a GTS-T. If you can you might want to look for the neo RB25DET as that is the one that they used in the R-34 GTS-t that was pumping out 280HP stock instead of the 250 on the R33 models.
It would probably be cheaper and easier to buy an R32 through Motorex than try and adapt the ATTESA to an s-13.
I think that for all practial purposes the sr20 would be a better swap since from what I have heard they can make insane amounts of power with basic bolt-ons (ballbearing turbo, ehaust, fmic, exhaust, injectors, etc.). An Rb25 is cool since it is a “skyline” motor but I’m not sure if they really have all that much more potential than an sr20 dollar for dollar.
first, thanks for all the replies. just to clear somthing up, i am not interested in an AWD 240 or an rb26. but an rb25det could shake the gound with little effort? let me tell you what i looking for in my project:
400 to 500hp(eventually)
rwd
also looking to spend 10-15k in mods. cannot exceed 20k overall(including the buying of the car)
cars considered:
nissan 240- more potenial than i first realized. looks promising
porsche 944turbo- a ton of potential. handleing second none.
a very pricy project. maybe one day.
mustang/camero- alot of potential. cheap and plentiful. but these cars
are pigs and don’t handle well
corlla ae86- nice and reliable, handles good but too slow.
nissan 300xztt- very nice. but they also cost an arm and a leg just to get
the car
If all the cars listed are project cars, then why isthe AE86 not an option? It can be made very fast as well as every other car there. Heck even the 240sx isnt that fast.

i should correct that, they can be made to go pertty quick. they however need alot of work just to acheive 300hp. i’am looking for a bit more power than that. besides, i also used to own one and am looking for somthing different.
