well now, there’s only one way to really find out, start a new thread!! lol. and yes, i always seem to be on here, i know. i have no life…
The orange wire seems to of fixed my starting problem!
yes, i know, i’m a god. lol.
seems like she is chewing threw a lot more fuel though!!!
45km to an 1/8th of a tank of 91 V-power…my god.
im planning on getting rb25det neo and gt35r turbine with other mods is this something you dudes have ever heard of being possible ? i want to know before actually getting serious with the budget but it should be i mean its a norm rb25 just turbine and other things basically is there space under the hood ?? lets say 93 coupe.
lol, i dunno about the fuel thing, i haven’t hooked my wire up yet. mine runs richer than hell as it is though, i need an aftermarket FPR…
anything’s possibly with a big enough budget, lol. i have heard of the NEO being a totally different motor wiring wise compared to the normal rb25. it can be done though. the biggest thing on the 20/25 was how the intake ran over the engine. on the rb20, the BOV would hit the hood if mounted with the r-32 x-member. but yeah, it should be possible though.
My recirc does not touch the hood. The intake manifold itself does. lol Just the furthest corner forwards.
really? maybe that’s what it was on mine too then, that and the intercooler piping at the front. it was all good after i spaced the hood up with some nuts i had around the shop
Stuff rubs here and there. The I/C piping like you said. Could be fixed by jammin the pipes in further and lengthening the cold pipe a bit. But whatever.
My custom throttle cable bracket rubbed for a bit. Intake mani, piping…uhhhh can’t member what else really.
Us RB guys should meet up and compare/discuss the swap/car.
if i lived closer to everyone, i’d def. be up for a meet. as far as rubbing went, i didn’t really have any issues once the bolts went on under the hood bracket. did you get your cruise to work? i think that’s my next lil’ side project.
nah. took cruise and ac right out. I never use the shit even when it does work lol
Im having 2 issues with mine right now… high idle… like 1200 - 1800 which once cars up to temp it will go up to 2000 then drop to 800 then back up really fast… i have not hookd up the aac valve yet nor the orange wire…
tomarrows jobs
that sounds like a combination of the IAC and possibly a dirty/bad MAF. hook up the IAC valve. to check the MAF, unplug it while the car is running, if nothing changes when it’s unplugged, then get some electrical connector cleaner from crappy tire to spray on the MAF heater wire. DO NOT TOUCH THE WIRE and for gods sake, don’t use anything other than the cleaner, anything else will likely leave a residue on it messing with the reading
hook up the AACV. Problem solved. Also sounds like you OVER adjusted the idle screw. I barely moved mine from what it was set to in Japan.
As for timing. We fucked with it a bit. Makes most power where it’s at.
yeah, my idle screw was off by half a turn. still a little high, but it’s all good. did you have a problem with cruising at low RPMs? when i’m driving at like 60 in 3rd, it seems like she cuts off and kicks back in only when it needs it. makes for one hell of a jerky ride. i think i have a vac. leak somewhere. also if you’re looking for a good RB forum, check out www.rbforums.org good site with the FSM’s for the engines up on it and everything. not sure why i haven’t shared it with anyone yet…
I started to have a jerk once in a while (only twice) changed the plugs…all is well.
BKR7E
yeah, i changed my plugs also, same thing, i have a q45 TPS/throttle body coming in, see if maybe that’s it.
Will that clear the hood you think? I can not see much performance improvements with a bigger tb really…
Let me know though for sure!
Just gotta get a trans, fmic and another 10" fan. Good to go:D
Just re calibrated my tach! Turn it all the way then back off about 1/16" - 1/8"
idles at 950rpm. puuuuuuuuuuuurfect
i wanna get my idle right before i mess with my tach. i think i need a new tps, anyone know how to test it? i get the mad idle problem too, my timing is set to 20 degrees. other than that she runs good looks stock and sounds sweet. havent done the orange wire yet but if it makes it suck more fuel then i might just leave it. pretty sure mine is rich too. need a wideband lol.
