Well, now that the rain has soaked in and cause the ground to flatten out after tilling it racking it. This is what we have for now. A bunch of weeds grew in from a couple weeks of not doing anything. We sprayed the ground but will have to do it again since the rain possibly washed off the chemical to kill the weeds and grass.
Go to the dollar store and by like 50 boxes of garbage bags…the cheapest ones you can get. Cut them length wise, dig up about 6 inches of dirt all around the track surface, lay down the plastic flat on the track, and put the dirt over the plastic to make a weed barrier for the dirt. This will also help drain the water and keep it’s shape if you pitch it .
You can also look for drop cloths but you can get like 1,000 garbage bags for like $50.
Unfortunately I wont be doing that. lol 1. it will take entirely way too long. 2. I don’t want to put any plastic/trash under the dirt at this spot. 3. We finally have had enough rain to flatten the ground and also leave no loose dirt that we kept spinning out on. The track was the best its been this past weekend.
Man my driving skills are sweet! hahaha
Anyone still running anything. Heli’s, planes, boats, trucks?
Just got this in last week
ive been thru pages 5 thru 11 and I see no Nitro love. WTF
Dave a got a nitro again … bought back my 4.6 savage
Sorry, must be a reliability thing. lol
Where is your input on nitro, I’m all ears. I got out of it because its to temperamental and you need to know what you are doing. I never learn enough about them. Also too heavy and tend to break more often when you crash them.
I am/was working on a 64" aircore plane which will have a .42 I believe.
Sorry Yam I still want to come run on the track but my Rc stuff has been on hold. Would like to get a few going this week…
All good, right now has been a mess of a time as it is with my schedule. This weekend I’ll be out camping and riding ATVs and dirtbikes
Weekend after is my buddies wedding I’m standing in, doubt the next day will be much of anything. haha
Aside from that is this damn rain!
Sold the e-revo… got a new vehicle in the mail. Couldn’t resist this one after driving one around a little and finding how precise the technology is in it.
since brushless and lipo have come out nitro is a dinosaur. blipo is less maintenance, and faster than nitro.
i am going to put my older savage back together, it has throttle and steering digital servos, 3rd channel reverse, 3 speed transmission, .28 motor… then sell it and buy more brushless stuff.
sunday night I took my traxxas slash and put in a mamba max pro esc in it, along with a non-sensored 4800Kv motor and two 2s lipo packs in series. i could not keep the front end down at half throttle. after 3 minutes the foam expanded/pushed thru the tire and the tire blew out. i think i gotta back down the boost on the esc. i went a little too balls deep i think.
That motor is not rated for a 4s battery lol. 3s would be more than enough… How hot did the motor get? I bet she was hauling ass though!
Yeah, get the mamba motor if you want to achieve full retard! You can run like two 3s or even higher. STUPID POWER! lol
I wont run anything over the 2s, I literally just bought 2 2s lipos from Hobbykings because 3s is just stupid on a 1/14 size vehicle. Personally I find 3s to not work out so well when track is involved which I mostly now what I’m running.
Cant wait, mailbox will be full soon. haha Black/yellow Losi Mini 8ight, 2x Turnigy 1600mah 2s, rpm bumper to help save the servo, 12 male/female deans to change everything… should be glorious when it comes!
the motor got warm, but no hotter than 140ish., it ran like a raped ape, more on its back wheels than front. i should have filmed it before the tire blew out.
4s is just something i threw together, it was pretty unuseable. it was like a dragster with no wheelie bar on a roadcourse. all that power and cant use it.
actually, after looking its not a venom motor, its an atomik v550 4200kv motor, still 2s rated. 2s in a b4 and it was a wheelie king, the 4s in a slash was a wheelie god.
Roadcourse? where are you located and which roadcourse?
RIP
These suckers are crazy. Here is a demo video of a Blade 700. Roughly a $1350 package to own.

missed this question, sorry…
it was a comparison of a dragster trying to make tight turns…
but there is an indoor roadcourse racing starting up Tuesday nights in Henrietta, NY I believe pretty soon. track will be close to 35’x80’, ozite surface.
Yep, 700 sized gas helis with carbon fiber blades are no joke. It’s basically a flying lawnmowner.
