Recession touched you ?

ive been touched by a lot of things in a lot of places, its hard to keep track at this point. i think i was touched by someone with a receding hairline at one point if that counts?

I was up in Glens Falls yesterday and many many stores in he center of town there were all closed. The recession did hurt alot of what I am doing but I also decide to do other endeavors to at least keep the money rolling, nothing like I had before BUT I like to keep busy…I guess I can owe that part of me to my Grampy and the lesson he taught, Nowadays with all the slack ass people and half ass workers my work seems to always shine through. So F U Recession and thank you to all the lazy ass people who make my work look AWESOME !!!

Yea everybody says “it must be easy getting a house for real cheap right now cause of the economy” and its like no actually house prices are down like less than 10%. none of that crazy forclosure and short sale madness going on around here…

lol. +rep if i could

My whole thing with the recession thing is, Im not affected at all, cause Ive been in a recession my whole life lol, nothing has changed haha Im used to it:lol

I’ve witnessed the closing of our Menands plant at Albany International Corp and the impact it had on the factory workers (production layoffs).

I was given more money afterword.

I’ve been hit. Hard. Learned not to take some things in particular for granted anymore.

I’ve done extremely well. Except for my 401K taking a hit, I have really cut back on a lot of spending. It’s a reality check for us.

Other than slightly higher gas? Nope. Hasn’t affected me one bit.

my job is pretty recession proof. no matter what people need to eat food, and i hear bread products are a hot commodity.

Uncle bad touch?

I have to say yes the recession has touched me. I am on disability, and everything keeps getting more expensive. On top of that, or amazing Pres. wont increase the cost of living for at least another year.

Actually…my 401k did take a hit. However, Vanguard is doing the most aggressive plan for me (since I’m only 22). My target fund is 2040 I believe. Before the crisis, I had $4k in my 401k. I lost all of it and actually went negative. Now, probably around the beginning of the summer, I started to make money again and am back up to $10.5k.

I could live off of bread and land o’ lakes spreadable butter if I really had to.

I am too much of a badass for this recession nonsense.

i am kinda in the same boat. because of the recession, we have been doing awesome business. We buy and sell used cell phones, so with people needing money they are selling to us like crazy. Then we refurbish and sell them at a cheaper price than buying a phone outright from a provider (AT&T or Verizon, etc.) So business has acctually been awesome lately!

yea i got layed off last fall when the stock market crashed.

well i’m glad that was funny

But srsly everyones hours at the private golf course I work at got cut in half and my detailing business stayed exactly the same, which I consider a bad thing because I’ve doubled profits every year I’ve been in business until last year. '10 at the golf course is looking better, hopefully spit-shining will improve too :number1

My business actually does better in a recession…
