Restaurants that don't suck thread

i was at Stockyards off that 50 best list yesterday… would go again.

i’m bored with places that are deliberately small just to inconvenience you with a no fukks given flare but the food is good.

tried one of the burgers that struck me as an attempt to serve a fast food burger (flavour-wise) but with great care and quality… the way a McD’s burger looks like it should taste in the pictures

i had the fried chicken and got into it as messily as i could. it was excellent.

the place was packed… 35 minutes to sit at a stool at 2pm on a saturday.

Went to Orazio’s for the first time Sunday night for a family birthday. Excellent. Great italian food and seafood dishes, huge menu, amazing service (Tom the waiter was the man), reasonable prices ($20 per entree for giant portions, with salad and homemade bread.) Very sweet sauce which reminded me somewhat of Chef’s. Definitely going again. Their homemade pasta was MUCH better than the boxed stuff.

The pasta con vodka is a must try if you haven’t yet.

You assholes need to start posting pictures.

I feel like such an asshole when I take pictures of my food. I haven’t been able to bring myself to do it for years.

Well start!!!

When I see people taking pictures of their food in a restaurant it screams ultra-douche. Makes me think of Tom Haverford.

Yeah…I jut can’t do it either. Maybe I will start, but probably not

Restaurant week is coming up! Kinda dissapointed by the amount of participants but it’s not too bad. Anyone planning on hitting anything up??

Treat yoself

Pano’s tonight, not being too adventureous because the special they have is a regular one but 5$ cheaper. 2 filets and small lobster tail 20$! Always been great everytime I go!

yeah i cant take pics of food anymore either.

I changed gears and went down to Amici’s for the first time on Elmwood. Not bad, but not too great. Started off with the French Onion soup, two thumbs up there, hot fresh bread was tasty, and the cesear salad seemed to have a homemade dressing that was pretty good. I chose the Lobster Ravioli, sauce wasn’t bad, but the ravioli themselves seemed to have been frozen, possibly purchased, but I don’t believe homemade. Overall 7/10, so I’ll be back during a normal service, maybe they skimmped a bit because of the cheaper price during restaurant week. Pictures aren’t worth posting.

The best lobster ravioli in the area is at San Marco, IMO.

And I’ve definitely noticed a quality drop at some places during restaurant week.

Mhmmm San Marco! Haven’t been there in a couple years, I’m due to go back.

I went to Co Co on main after the anothiny bourdaine show on monday. the meal was good but not $100.00 good. Went with the resturant week special. ordered the pea and carrot aranchini as a starter, it was a bit bland and cold in the middle. For the main course i had the steak frites. it was cooked well and the fries were just ok, would have been better if they were fresh cut. The best part of the entire meal was the salted carmel brownie. My dates Miracan chicken was nothing special and the cus cus was under cooked. we each had two drinks which obviously jacked up the price of the bill. I would probably go back one more time to see how their regual menu holds up.

Just had dinner at Kentucky Greg’s Hickory Pit on George Urban. I’ve been driving by here all my life and never bothered stopping in. Man was it fucking delicious, all below for 10!!! BBQ chicken, pulled pork, everything melted in my mouth, BBQ sauce was outstanding, Corn bread was great, and I topped it off with a little refreshing coleslaw and macaroni salad =) Everyone here should stop by this place ASAP, for 10 you can’t beat it with a stick.

Gregs is amazing.

This weekend it is. Game on
