Restaurants that don't suck thread

yep. It’s normally just me and Kristen, so the bar works great. Although in the summer we put up with the lackluster service to sit on the patio.

Once was bar, once was a table and it was one of my friends (slight bias)

I’m shocked to hear that…I’m there every few weeks, never once had bad service…and yea man, their patio is just perfect…exactly how I’d design one…

Went to Remington Tavern Friday evening and I left pleased. Sat at the bar for a drink while our table was getting ready. The atmosphere was a tad on the louder side but this was expected. Although they were mobbed, the customer service was still top notch which was surprising to me. I had the Calendar Island Mussels which were superb follwed by the Milanese Chicken Cutlet covered in arugula, mhmmm and it was awesome as well. I’m looking forward to visiting again.

dem mussels tho…mmmmmmmmmm

Uhg I hear ya man, the pizza out west fucking blows, and I still haven’t found a decent sub in Denver. However they make these things out here called tortas that are fucking AMAZING

WTF is this?

I don’t care about how good their food is, I just want to know what is up with their Illuminati/NWO name and logo. Are they for it or against it? I figured you Urban hipsters would know.

Tons of beer, crazy music, good place. Never eaten there.

I don’t always go out to eat, but when I do, I stay away from places with a “live DJ” advertisement.

Any entertainment for me, whether it’s a DJ or a band it’s too fucking loud. I can appreciate a guy on a piano playing a soft melody though.

It’s not really a sit down place. It’s an Allen St. bar. B. Dolan was there a couple weeks ago and I missed it. Last time I was there @djdstar was there.

It’s one of the old chefs from Oliver’s. I have yet to try anything, but I have heard great things for some pub type food.

Someone today just told me about Viking Lobster Company and I had no idea this existed: http://www.vikinglobster.biz/

Anyone have any experience with it?

Another Black Rock favorite…

Never been there personally, but from friends I have heard it is a great time. BYOB - basically wine, liquor, whatever you want. Interesting but cool at the same time.

Yes, went last week actually been meaning to take the time, so here is my review:

Reservations: they are only open from like 5-10pm Wed - Sat. So you have to call during that time or email them and they will get back to you (took two days for me).
The place is a dive on the outside and not too much better on the inside. You are not going here for the swanky surroundings.
Its cash only
Its BYOB (no corking fee either).

Soup and salad dressing were both very good, I think they said both of them are made in house.

I had the “Viking Lobster Feast for One” this consisted of: ($50)
1-1/4lb Lobster
2 large scallops
Cluster of crab legs
Shrimp
Haddock filet
Garlic mashed potato

Overall the food was “okay”. It wasn’t anything super special, but you did get alot of food for the money I will for sure say that. Not the best seafood I have ever had and certainly not the worst either. I guess you have to remember that its Buffalo too.

Here is a pic (I felt like a douche taking it but whatever) the wife had lobster stuffed haddock:

So, better than Red Lobster?

Yeah, better than red lobster, I would go as a group if we go again, that combined with the BYOB would make it a good time for sure. I think when you are with your spouse you tend to judge everything alot vs. when you’re as a group you tend to judge it by how good of a time you had/was the food good.

So what was the cost of the one man feast?

Sorry I meant to put that in there $50 for the viking feast.
