Restaurants that don't suck thread

I went to Mulberry’s Italian Ristorante in Lackawanna last weekend. Gigantic meat balls! Loved their tomato cream sauce with hot cherry peppers. My whole family loved their dishes, clean plates all around. Tons of bread too, of which I probably consumed an entire loaf soaking up the leftover sauce. I don’t normally go to restaurants for Italian food, but I will definitely go back for more from this place.

Sounds like a place @psychopjv should work at, my man has some big mudflaps.

Griffon is solid. Obviously a good selection of beer, solid food as well.

Went there once (so far) shortly after they opened. I really enjoyed it. I don’t drink wine, so wine doesn’t interest me. Pretty good beer availability when I was there. Food was pretty good as well.

Went to Toutant…again. It’s pretty much my go-to with the wife. Food is always good. There is one waitress there who we’ve had a few times that is really good. I know their more cocktail, whiskey, but I wish they had more beers. Shrimp Po Boy was better than the two I had in New Orleans, Bread Pudding however was not.

I don’t work there anymore so my opinion is detached, but are a dozen bottled and canned and eight drafts seriously not enough beer for you?

I should rephrase, The selection of beer at my last visit wasn’t…um…favoring what I wanted. I’m not knocking the selection, I’m not saying they did a bad job picking beer, I’m saying personally the beers at the time weren’t really something I would drink or be excited to drink. A couple weeks ago they had Boom Sauce, I wish I had made it over there to drink a shit ton of that.

Maybe that comes off snobby, and I’m far from a beer snob.

Sometimes is gets a little redundant, I’ll give you that one. I popped in to say hi yesterday afternoon and the draft list seemed pretty cool to me.

Ill leave that in our text message suggestion box

Went to BK last night, I have to admit I was disappointed with their drink menu (no baja blast). Also when the waiter came out with my food (maybe it was the manager, they had a visor on), I thought the way they put the tray down was a little unbecoming of such an establishment.

Overall, I’d give it a 7/10.

(I’m pooping while I’m writing this btw)

Chooch is right. Service is service. You shouldn’t be presented something any differently because of it’s price. Wine etiquette should carry through no matter what.

Ate lunch at Griffon GP yesterday and it was great. Had the chicken and waffle sandwich and it was delish.

Hurry up and open so I can come visit you.

@manhagen NYSpeed meet at the new place?! Congrats on the opening. Is it “happy hour friendly”?

We are open, sorry I haven’t been paying a ton of attention to the internet lately.

See y’all soon.

 I’ll have to stop by

im in for an NYspeed thingamajigger

Definitely worth stopping in. We were there a week ago, and really impressed

Will make it a point to check out…

Haven’t been able to check much out lately, but I did sneak out of the restaurant to get dinner with my lady.

We hit up Thin Man (formerly Fahertys and Toro), it’s a quick walk from home for us. We were there within a week from opening, and I just went through that growing pain so I understand. The food was good, we just did the Thin Man burger and some side veggies that were roasted Ole’s carrots and broccolini. Both were delicious but had pools of their sauté liquid of choice in the bottom of the little cast skillet they come in. I don’t like veggies to be swimming on the plate.

Unfortunately the bar was full so we got a table, its very clear their staff is self taught. Hopefully they iron out the kinks, as we are at Billy Club too. We’ll definitely try Thin Man out again though.

Finally made it to Billy club and could not have been more impressed! Between the super creative drinks and the burger (which was seriously one of the best I’ve ever had- pickled reds, arugula, house made blue cheese dressing served with house made potato chips) I will definitely be returning

also one of 10 new restaurants you need to try according to the buffalo news (and I couldn’t agree more)

Thanks dude! Its awesome to hear that you enjoyed yourself. It also means a lot to be mentioned on that BN article.

McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys. Colonie Beverage Center. All great places for food and drink.
