Exactly, you have no control over what the factory does, short of not buying the car. But if you go out of your way to add something to the vehicle that serves no function you run the risk of it being rice.
I should have mentioned there is grey area, for example most often having wheels powder coated black is not rice, but having them powder coated neon green is - some porsche tuners are guilty of this.

I bought some EGay pedals with “RalliArt” on them- pretty nice for the price… Except I drive a Mazda.
I took a dremel to it to “erase” the RalliArt but it ended up making the pedal(s) look even worse.
