I’m hitting up the trails at Chesnutt Ridge in a few here:tup: Keep running you fucks!
Mike I am running there Monday for the first time. Any tips on trails etc? I am taking the gf and will do anywhere from 5-10.
Drew, I’ve been trying to find a trail map to link up here…but google’s letting me down. If I get back out there today/tmrw I’ll grab a pick of the trail map and drop some notes on it. For the most part it’s pretty well marked, but there are some areas where I took a wrong turn. 5-10 through the trails will be a solid run…what’s great about it is there are so many spots to ‘take it in’ and climb around on shit. Example: if you make it down to the eternal flame to the right of that waterfall is a ~30’ wall of tree roots with erroded dirt that basically turn the roots into a ladder that you can climb up, big time fun. Wear shoes you don’t mind muddin up a bit, and give yourself a few hours to really check the place out. There are two main trails; Blue and Orange. I have yet to do all of the orange because I always wander off it and find new shit to explore.
If I don’t back in here with that map…park off of Seufert Rd. There will be little turn off where you can see the trail entrance. See if this link works…
I knocked off another 3.3 last night. (Took my cell phone/gps with me to find out.) Took me a hair over half an hour but I don’t care. I’m running for the sake of being in motion not to beat a clock and my knee didn’t hurt so I was happy. My shins started to get that real tight burning feeling this time. I tried kicking my heels a little more because it felt like I was getting kind of lazy and wouldn’t you know that the pain went away? I’m starting to enjoy this shit. Drake radio on Pandora sets a real nice mellow pace, the kenton cheerleaders were walking home while I was jogging, and cool breeze with a nice low warm sun topped it off just right. I think I’ll do it again tonight!
Ha. Chris I just looked up what my shoe is that I’m running in and apparently my cross trainers are actually advertised as trail running shoes. They’re “Adidas Yukon Trail II”.

^ If you are running on trails then those are good shoes. Personally I’m a huge fan of Asics: http://www.asicsamerica.com/products/category.aspx?PARENT_CATEGORY_ID=250001538 , they make great basic running shoes, really good arch support, light weight and reasonably priced. They also make amazingly light track cleats, which is why I’m a huge fan lol.
canisus had their female track team out the other day. god bless college girls.
I was about to go to the gym and then run again. But I sat down to read a little out of The Grand Design. I never would have guessed that quantum physics would have put me to sleep. I woke up an hour later and now I have to go to dinner. Maybe after dinner…
If you wanna run later fry id be in.
Sidewalks. I wish there were trails nearby but I’m lucky if I can make an hour for a workout so I’m not going to be able to typically drive half an hour to Chestnut ridge or something. Maybe once in a while.

I’m going to a 6:30 dinner with the wife’s family, so I’m guessing that by the time I’m off duty you’ll already be half in the bag. You should be anyway. :squint:
Prob not. I will prob be doing hw tonight. Maybe have a few beers later.

I’ve already given up running outside… I’m doing my average 3 mile warm up on either the inside 1/8 track or on a treadmill before lifting.
pussy.
I better keep my UB student ID. If they don’t swipe it I can use the track at alumni for free.
