staying rotary, and mucho upgrades.
they are not reliable if they are not tuned properly, a flawless tune and 3mm apex seals will take that motor over 100k miles under reasonable boost.

to a point, if you leave them stock, except for the downpipe and air separator tank, they are pretty reliable. There are a bunch of guys on rx7club who run stock except for safety and reliability mods (downpipe, AST, silicone vac hoses, alum rad) and they have had the car w/ the original engine since 1993.
