As i said, i just finished a tranny swap (auto->manual) on my s13, but it doesnt keep idle. I hooked up the 3 gas lines back fine and that’s the only thing i touched on the engine when doing the swap. Anybody have any ideas what could cause that?
I’ve included a video for you to see what i’m talking about:
check the setting on your idle stabilizer valve, if the adj. screw is all the way in turn it out a half turn
also try to keep it running with your foot and let it warm up, when its warm kill it and try again if it starts then I would be looking at a coolant temp sensor
I noticed that my car also dies when it’s cold w/ the auto ECU, but only when I first start it up. If I plug the 5spd. ECU, the car starts up and idles perfectly fine. The auto ECU is fine, but I have to keep my foot on the gas for a second or two so… after that, it’s fine.
i’ll try the idle screw thing, i knew about it, but it was late last night and didn’t have time to mess with it. I just thought maybe it was something more than just this, but you never know.
I tried to plug in the manual ECU tho and it still does it.
I’ll let you guys know, i have the whole afternoon to mess with this and it’s sunny. hehe
