S13 rim sizes

What are the best rim dimensions for an S13? I’m looking at 17" with stock brakes.

Best offset to fill the wheel wells?

search freshalloy in the 240sx basic section. There is a thread about post picture of your car.

That thread has over 5000 posts :stuck_out_tongue:

I searched the whole forum and mostly came up with sizes for rolled fenders, etc.

Aaron, what dimensions are your rims? They fit nicely

Depends on how wide you want to go man.

17x7 front and 17x8 rear. Would be about +30/2 up front and +30 or so in the back would fit nicely I think…

Mine is x7 and x8 and a +35 up front and +32 rear.

I’m not too sure about a 9" though. About a +30 or so would fit I think. Not sure, I’m no rim guru. lol.

werd, 17x7’s and 17x8’s are a good combo for s13’s…without having to roll any fenders or anything. 35 offset all round will work, and should clear coilovers.

i ahve a 35 offset and i think i wanna get some spacers to pust them out 5mm would do it but then i might have to roll my fenders :E

Go 17x8 all around no need to make the understeer even worse . As for offset on and 8 inch wheel +32 or less fits well.

you guys r too conservative…8j and 9j will be fine…just stretch the rubber…
say a 215 and a 235 or if u dont liek stretching a 225 and 245 should fit well… keep offsets around 32+ 36+

on a s13 chasis, you can fit 10"s with 38-40mm offset in the rear. heres a few pics of mine from last nite. REAR SUSP IS UNLOADED - so it looks like its sticking out of the fender but its not.
My GramLights on my s13…

The 17x8 35mm offset wheels will not clear my z32 caliper(225/45s will clear coilovers). It will need atleast 20mm to clear. I didnt take any pics of the fronts. But here are some pics of the rears 17x9 35mm offset.

I think i will need to roll the rear fenders or machine down the wheels if i want to run 245s or wider.

Nice pics. So do you think one could run a 9" with a higher offset to suck it away from the fender? Like a 40mm? Cause it looks like there is plenty of clearance around the suspension pieces.

Weird, your spoke design looks as though it would clear the front brakes. Cause I put my 17x8 with a 32mm offset up front and I cleared the brakes by like an 1". Hmmm.

9"s with 35mm offset and 245s will clear the rear fenders but i would roll the inner lip just to be save. If you want to run 245s or wider tires then higher offset will be needed to clear rear fenders. But i would roll the rear fender lip as well.

The spokes on these Gramlights are hitting my frnt calipers(300zx). I need atleast a 20mm spacers for the spokes to clear the caliper.

I agree when you have a lower power level. But if your torque is well over 200Lbs/ft understeer is only a problem at tight corners/low speeds.
Try a turbo Flavio, I think you may want more wheel on the rear end.

…Thats crazy talk.

HOly wicked write-up. Thanks Mr. SARS!

I don’t know if anyone here goes to that site, but the Aussies on NissanSilvia.com can answer ANY question you have about Silvias/180sx. :stuck_out_tongue: DEFINITELY a place to check out if you ever run into troubles or have questions.
