OP: Have you ever thought about the fact that you’re asking for information about a car, that wasnt available on this continent and still isnt available for several years. If you really wanted detailed information, i’m 100% positive, that even with some of the great nissan-gurus on this ontario-based site, that you’d be better off looking for solid information on a Japanese forum? (cant read japanese?) check out a UK forum, or an australian forum, they’ve had s15s too. Before you start losing your shit about how we’re all lhd v. rhd fan boys arguing, what the fuck did you expect? you’re asking or information on a car that almost no one in Canada owns. I’m sure you can find some articles through google that would probably be more useful that expecting valuable information that here.

There’s no problem with you posting an s15 discussion thread but dont expect a treasure chest of information to open. Especially when you’re on an Ontario based forum saying things like,

My S15 will be owned in Japan so its all irrelevant.

Seriously, I don’t see the point in this thread anymore… I thought it was a S15 appreciation type thread but it seems like you just want to know more about it because sometime in the future you would like to own one… in Japan. I’m pretty sure you can find anything and everything about an S15 through google. You’re acting as if the S15 is a Toyota FT-86 / Scion FR-S a couple months ago when people were scrambling trying to find details about it. The S15 isn’t a concept car, it’s out, it exist, and it’s been that way since fucking 1999 or whenever the hell it came out. I don’t know what you expect from people coming into this thread… no one here owns one. Also in Japan S15’s are dime a dozen, it’ll be like going to a dealer to pick out a used fucking sentra.

I would start with parts that are REALLY important to you and what type of use you are looking to get out of the car…

A lot of the parts are interchangeable with the S14. I have a lot of the parts I’ve stocked up on can be used on both the S14/S15 (One big exception is the exhaust. The S14 exhaust will be longer and the hanger points would have to be heated and bent to a different direction).

s14 is longer, but at what point?

The end will stick out 2-4" more then a proper fitting S15 exhaust. Also the rear hangers are the ones that need to be modified.

Secondly, is it really so hard to believe that S-Chassis owners would look to/like the S15 enough to do ANY research on the car and find out the differences between an S14/S15 or point out some drift/time attack cars that the like, what parts they like on them/seem cool?

As for Cal-SoY I never expected to get extremely technical shit from any of you, I know better than that. Nor was I expecting a ‘treasure chest of information’ like SON would ever provide that. I’m under the assumption that people here you know… look at other cars OTHER than a S13/S14 chassis at some point in their life assuming an S15 y’know… would be one of those things. If I was looking for super in-depth technical information I would research it on japanese sites, but again… I’M NOT ONLY LOOKING FOR THAT (capitalized so you understand). Jesus christ, it’s like saying you can’t talk about a car you’ve never owned because you’ve never owned it. None of you have ever talked about Ferrari’s, Lambo’s, Porches, BMW’s, etc just to shoot the shit about them? Yeah. You have. Jesus christ, slow your fuckin rolls.

Doesn’t really say anything about wanting technical information. I’m pretty sure those are just suggested points of discussion that we could be having instead of this back and forth bullshit that SON is famous for. Do you hear me asking for things you wouldn’t know about a car that you’ve never driven or seen in your life? Get over yourselves, I asked for some BASIC information, and mostly what kind of S15’s you like, parts you’ve maybe heard of, kits you like, and if your that guru that has more in depth information on the car itself it woulda been sweet for someone to chime in. But again, asking SON to have a rational fucking discussion on any topic = non stop flames. No wonder this forum has one new thread every 2 weeks. You all need to grow up (And not anyone in particular, the general forum population).

I could understand some flames if I opened a thread with a “GUYZ IM GUNNA GET ME A RHD CAR MAN AINT THAT SICK, GUNNA BE AN S15 BRO U JELLY?” and started posting up some fucking DG-5’s, Vertex kits and acted like a 12 year old in general. As to why you all have an impossible time discussing ONE of the S-chassis’ in a civil matter is BEYOND me.

On a side note, Cal-SoY, I have nothing against anything you’ve really said in your posts so for us to bicker back and forth is a moot point. Most of what you’ve said was well written, and you did make valid points. Also did post some information related to the tranny issue, using the z32 transmission with adapter plate which was actually useful information. It was more directed to the first page and half of talking about shit that has nothing to do with an S15 itself. Sure, it’s RHD, it doesn’t matter in this discussion at all is all I’m saying.

Does anyone know which company produces the lhd dashes for s15? …

I had an S15 drive train in my S14 race car. The 6 spd is garbage. I never made more then 300whp with the 6 spd but it is just a shitty tranny. Gearing was amazing but there is no durability. Went to a 5 spd (need to change the clutch and flywheel because bell houseing is dirrenent) and no more problems. I still have the S15 motor in the car though. I like the fact that there is no stupid ignitor like S13 and S14 (built into each coil pack for S15). Plus the OEM S15 turbo is amazing if your ok with 260 whp ish…AMAZING SPOOL!!! Other then that, the S15 has a helical diff that works great, but is limitied to its design - can only transfer as much power as the wheel with least grip. It was great for street driving, but not at the track with big slicks. The best thing about the S15 is the OEM exhaust manifold gasket. It is 7 layer metal!!!This is a manditory upgrade to any S13, S14 swap. You will never have to replace it!!!

talking about SR20’s and 6 spd transmissions is so 2002. We should all already know all that stuff, no new info on S15’s in the last half decade.
