Philly does suck but they’re pretty much an outlier. The teams below the sabres pretty much all blow. The best teams are near the top.
:bigclap:
Been saying it for 2+ years.
there are a bunch of shitty teams above the sabres ex: florida Tampa bay and chicago
most of the league is above them. naturally there are gonna be some shitty ones.
You also have to compare market size and ticket price…weeeee
Lmao MUCH BETTER!!!
A little dramatic, but that was the original intent of the tread now wasn’t it…
true that, but i honestly believe that if they made a commitment to spend to the cap contingent on raising ticket prices x amount and requiring x number of seats to be sold before the season, that Buffalo would pay for a quality on-ice product. The scalping prices during their playoff runs showed that.
They don’t raise ticket prices because they wanted games to be “affordable”
I don’t even know what ticket prices are…I just know they are supposed to below everyone else…
lol. Precisely! I’ll change it in a minute.
I don’t want to be the next maple leafs
Right. But I’d rather see expensive winners than affordable losers. A lot of people will pay for quality and a commitment to winning. We have great farm talent, and put all this effort into developing them, then they just leave when they get good enough to make real money.
Yea I think they try to keep the Sabres affordable for the “working man”
but then again who actually pays for tickets :tspry:
BIINNGGGOOO!!!
People are forgetting, even if the Sabres left, WE ARE A HOCKEY TOWN… Aside from the 6 Canadian teams, 4 of which are small market compared to the rest of the NHL cities, how many other locations can say they are a hockey town? Minnesota, Detroit, a few others maybe, but even if the Sabres left, it wouldn’t be long before we got a team back assuming the city could at least keep constant with our current economic condition. We have a semi-modern arena that is in above average shape. I would bet the next team to move would come to Buffalo.
Look at it from an ivestors standpoint in the terms of risk… Would you rather have to promote Hockey itself in a larger southern city (look at teams like Atlanta or Carolina) or bring a team to a place that has proven it can support a team for many many years, dispite the absolute shitty quality of its economy.
LOL I just talked to some people…I heard Jim Kelley is pissed because he got fired from the Buffalo News…which is why he is trying to raise drama.
btw same guy
“One such individual was Buffalo News columnist Jim Kelley, who wrote a column which detailed Hašek’s injury and his conflict with Nolan, and questioned the goaltender’s mental toughness.[16] When Kelley approached Hašek for an interview after a loss in game five of the best-of-seven series, Hašek attacked the journalist[16] and received a three-game suspension and a $10,000 (US) fine as a result of the incident”
haha that would be funny if true, i never really liked his articles
omgz are they sold yet?
it is true, I remember when it happened. Hasek strangled him in the hallway i believe.
it’s purely speculation…but, Kelly was on S&R last night explaining the story, and he said his sources say it’s not Balsille, but someone with previous hockey experience looking to buy the team.
They started trying to think of who has that kind of cash, and someone mentioned Scotty Bowman. Apparently a while back he mentioned wanting to buy a team, and supposedly had investors lined up for it.
Now I’m sure this is all false, but imagine if that happened…could be a step in the right direction.
Well if it was Scotty Bowmen, then I wouldn’t be too worried, he’s not going to move the team either.
who is this guy, the guy next to golisano (on the other side, not quinn). every time I see quinn with golisano this guy is there
