So some friends and I are road tripping up there next weekend and until now didnt even think about what we will do with the car while were there. Is there any place in Oakland, closer to the University the better, that I can park my car at for a couple days and wont have to worry about it gettin broke into/stolen? Obviously there wont be any place free but whats around? Id need to park it from Friday morning till sunday evening.
go to a parking garage. then when you leave say you lost your ticket and pay only 1 day max fine. 
ive never done it but i have thought about it when i was monthly parking in downtown baltimore. do it at your own risk

In what part of oakland are you staying? I dealt with oakland parking living there for 7 years.
Were staying in the dorms but I really dont see us needing the car for anything since we will be walking or using the bus all weekend so I guess its not a important to be close to the University but it would be nice.
Is the Forbes Semple garage on Forbes and Meyran an alright place? Im really just worried about my shit gettin broke into. Also were gonna get into town around 10am Friday so is there a good chance that garage will be full until later friday?

Park at Rivers casino garage. Take bus 
Its hard to do stuff like that any more I know at Pittsburgh Intl theres a group of three-four people that walk thru the lots and garage they take down plate numbers. So when you show up and say you dont have the ticket they just look you up.
forbes meyran is fine but they beat you up over night on weekdays. it’ll fill up by 8 something am as well.
if you are staying at the dorms just park on lytton or tennyson st. by the big mansions. I used to park there everyday for work or leave my car there overnight if i get too drunk to drive. No permit parking and the neighborhood is pretty decent. Its also close to the dorms so you can check on your car occasionally.
for $50 ill let you park in my driveway and Ill drive you into oakland when you arrive and back to get your car when you leave. Seriously. I live less than 10 minutes from oakland.
Or you can park anywhere in Schenley and take a little walk into Oakland. Or park just about on any street in Sq. Hill and take the bus in. Tons of places to park for free…
none of which possess the safety and security of my driveway =)
