well about 6 weeks ago i sold what i thought were skunk2 tuner 1 cams (they had a marking on the end with a T, and i had asked a couple vendors what they were and they told me tuner 1’s)
i sold them to a guy on honda-tech for $320 shipped and about 2 weeks later he replied saying that they were skunk2 turbo stage 1 cams and will not work with his setup like he wanted, we came to an arrangement that if he put up a for sale ad and sold them i would cover any difference in costs incase he could not get the full 320 from them
last thursday he sends me an im asking for my address to return them to me, the next day i get an im stating he shipped them out to the address that was on the box (sent via ups)
well last night i get a pm asking if i had recieved them since they said they were recieved on fedex.com, i check my dads house and my place and no package at either location, i proceed to ask what address he shipped to since he had shipped them out before i could get back to him with my address via pm
apparently i still had on file with ups my old address from when i went to wyotech which was 3 years ago and not where i currently live (since i just give them my phone number for my contact information/address)
so now someone at my old address probably has a package with my name on it and has no idea where i live now etc etc and this dude wants a refund for the cams that he sent to the wrong address
what do i do, i have a good reputation on honda-tech etc etc and i dont want him bashing me, but at the same time i did not recieve the cams because he hurried and sent them out without confirming my address
if there is nothing you can do to get the package back since it went to a dif address…oh well. He’s the idiot that decided to not verify anything before sending back. It’s his fault for not waiting for a response. seems that he wanted to send them back as quick as possible, but never stopped to verify any address.
In my opinion…he should be the one that is SOL unless he can somehow track them down and get em back since hes the idiot that send them.
i always make sure to double check with a buyer/seller what the correct address it for issues like this. just my .02
^word. he sent them to the wrong address. it’s his problem. Maybe if whoever recieved them sends them back, then it’s a different story. but until then, its his fault.
and i saw your thread where you were willing to make up the difference of whatever the price was, i was going to buy them but i got my cams super duper cheap
i was confused as to why you were going to give some random guy from georgia 50$ for him selling his cams to someone lol, because i had thought u had tuner1’s as well
edit: if he paid for them via paypal, then he should have sent them to your paypal address? How did he even get the wrong address in the first place?
i dont see how i am liable when he should have checked with me on where to ship them, i am willing to try and make right on this whole ordeal, but i cant shell out $300 because he shipped them to the wrong address

Problem is he didn’t fuck again when he tried to make good on it. If he agreed to a full refund and the guy was to impatient to wait for a reply, how is that his fault?
i think he should be the one to try and track them down…hes the one that sent them. My opinion is to start from there and see if you or him have any luck
IMO, you’re liable because you didn’t change your address on paypal. I have done this 2 or 3 times when shipping parts that the buyer has had the wrong address on there but most of the time it was at their old house were they still have all the new home owners information to get ahold of them for instances like this. I never verify if its the correct address with anyone because it is “verified” on paypal and its their fault for not changing it.

BUT, why the hell didn’t he use the address that was on the box that you sent them too him in? That would have your dad’s address on there and shouldn’t have been a problem. I think you should bring that up with him and say the correct address was obviously on the box that you sent the cams too him in and its his fault for using something else to find your address when it was clearly there
No. If he was returning the cams, then he should have waited for brian to send him the money via paypal, and then returned him to the address on the paypal.

it’s his fault, he fucked up. Like i said, hopefully whoever recieved them sends them back. But i doubt it, seeing as they would have to cover shipping which is probably like 15-20bucks.
He should have insured and required signature on the item, although I dought he’d get coverage but you never know.
You should learn to update your shit, why the eff would you have the wrong return adress? Would have been great if he wasn’t around and FedEx shipped em back to your incorrect house. That is why its there.
Why didn’t you respond to him quicker when he was asking for your stuff.
Bring the signature information from the shipper to the old house and see what showed up, maybe it was a box of marshmallows.

if he would have sent it to my paypal address it would have been correct, if you read it right you would realize i said it was the address on the box which is my address on file with ups…
whenever i ship something worth decent money i ship via ups and i just drop them off and pay for packaging/shipping so that way its best incase soemthing with insurance needs to be done, i give them my phone #, parts, and money and head on my way, i dont see any label that has my address on it etc so i had no clue it was still my old address from 3 or 4 years ago
already explained why the address was not updated as i never look at the tracking labels when i ship through ups, when i ship usps i always right my correct address
he sent the pm asking for my address late on a tues night, and on thur morning shipped the package to what he could “read” off the old box, it just happens to be i didnt get a chance to check his message in that 40 hour period of time.
he did not ship with a signature required so it was just “dropped off”
Did he insure? If he insured, you have a legitimate claim if you can’t get the package, and they can’t prove it was delivered to you… that is why you insure things.
Still sounds like you’re out at least $150 unless you find the cams IMO.
Ah fuck I read the original post wrong. Alpha Earl I thought you somehow told him to reference your fedex account or whatever, rather than giving him an actual address when he asked for it. I thought that one way or another you gave him the wrong address.
Well now I’m more inclined to say fuck him for shipping them to the wrong address.
I wouldn’t say it’d cover from the wrong address. I’d say you should handle it with as little detail as possible.

He is pissed and won’t tell you if he insured it… I hate to think many people will have too much sympathy for him in this situation. Its up to you. It is your karma.
Bought a GPS unit, it was DOA, so i shipped it with delivery conf, etc.
Went 3 months without refund/or new unit so I filed a chargeback on my credit card.
The day after the chargeback went through he claims he shipped it out. It was delivered but it wasn’t delivered to my apt or signed by me, so he wanted me to refund my chargeback, I laughed.
