Hmmm…do some more research and find out that CASC TGTC has only ever run that config ONCE, who ever finished first that day would get the record …lol…and again, read back, I never said he wasn’t fast

Yep, thought so, well if you do come up with some, let me know…[/quote]
I’ll let you know, but at the moment I’m halfway into a build, as my last car ate the wall…
And not everyone has access to 2 sentras, a civic and a 200sx…

Yeah? And it was him? The fact it hasn’t been setup that way somehow discredits that fact? Or the fact he’s currently in second place?
Interesting…
Ah, but you made a point of mention the lap record, as if it meant more than just the win. The win was the important fact there, the lap record only means something if you have a comparison. A lap record at Mosport for example would be impressive, given the number of top drivers and laps run on it.
Here I’ll give you one:
http://mylaps.com/results/newResults.jsp?id=164011
Look at TGTC SGT, Andrew was the only one in his class, and HE WON!!!.
Kinda impressive huh?
Look at his lap times, pretty fast huh?
But you’re right a win is a win, no matter if there was competition or not.
Sasha drove a great race that day, and holds the record, against some good drivers, which is fantastic. I hope he holds it for a long time, it would be nice to see a Nissan hold a record for awhile.
Where is Sasha in all of this?
I had no idea he was doing so much racing!
People should post about his accomplishments in each race more often, one of our own is doing something useful with his car… finally
I guess a few others have but we never heard about it on the boards…
Keep up the discussion boys it’s quite informative
Hilarious…
The point I’m making is that you seem to be questioning his ability more then his conduct, and I’m simply stating otherwise. He won because his car was healthy, and he was healthy.
You seemed to discredit his abilities based on another car. A car with 200hp and weight of 1700 pounds probably… or less. It’s not like he weighed the same with that much hp.
He’s done quite well this year, and it’s great to see another Nissan out on the track, wait 'til you see next years TGTC poster, Nissan has the biggest percentage of cars entered I think.
As you can see from this pic

Yah, sashas, done alllllright i guess, considering it is his first season.

Well, again, you’d better do some more research, that Lexus likely weighs more than the 240…stock…Ok I just used the TGTC weight calculator and it should weight over 2800lbs + rewards weight, probably at least another 100lbs by now, and around 250hp, I can also look up its stats from the Speed World Challenge site, as that was what the car was built for and it had to make their tech sheet first…especially since they still run it in Speed TC.
And I have not questioned his ability, I have said he might need to work on his cornering if he gets sideways too much, which by your own statement he knows and knows it slows him down.
You keep trying to make it out like I have an issue with him…I don’t.

Lol, even when I compliment the guy you guys try to spin it…

I was referring to the civic, not the Lexus, and Sasha is running an ample amount of ballast as well…
BTW, theres free tickets available to anyone to come up and watch, download them here:

OK 2500 lbs for the Civic according to the Calculator + ballast.
Sasha does have one big advantage, there is no minimum weight restriction on his GT car other than what he starts the season with, in other words the Civic will always have to weigh 2500lbs, but if Sasha can get down to 1700, he’s allowed to run
That was Sasha’s starting weight…
Rules:
http://www.casc.on.ca/comptkt/
Weight Calculator:
http://www.casc.on.ca/documents/regulations/TGTCCalculator2006.htm#
2500 was his starting weight? How much rewards weight is he carrying now?..I believe he can request to be reweighed if he can prove he has removed more than 50lbs from the car.
Also I meant to ask, why is he running in GT, his car can be classed as T1?
Unless he wants to avoid the whole weight issue as some guys have in the past.
He just liked the thought of an unlimited class. Where he can build his car to go as fast as possible and handle as well as possible without restriction. Not just that, but T1 class makes it hard to be competitive with the high dollar teams. Money helps in classes with restrictions.
I don’t think he can enter into T1, there was a reason I just can’t remember what it was.
There was some discussion early on about engine swaps to turbo engines not being allowed, but Bob Armstrong ran in T1 with an SR20DET swap in his NX 2000…the fourth car in this pic: http://www3.sympatico.ca/frank_ewald/car/barc/IMG_7685.JPG
BTW I’m the 2nd car in pic and Sasha is the last car and gaining quick.
The base 240SX is listed as a T car, so I would think he should be able to enter, but it would be more fun to run in an unlimited class.
Pretty much the same reason we run in T2, T1 is getting to be a very expensive class. Right now we are closing in on third in our class (only run half the season, spent the rest of the time crewing for the T2 class leading Mini Cooper S JCW car #47) and we are running a stock SR20DE engine (260,000kms) So it’s kept the cost down. We should have a race engine next year and see what happens.
Finally found some of Malcolms results, had to go back to 2004 for some…

Yeah I think Sasha was under the impression he couldn’t run in the T1 class…
Although after seeing how the well funded teams have setup in T1 it’s a pretty big detterant from running T1 now… it is very expensive to stay competitive.
