When you force an old car off the road in favour of a new one your harming the environment.
Keeping an old car running is more beneficial to the environment then buying a new one. A new car has a lot more pollution associated in its manufacture and shipping then a old car running till its rotted and shooting black smoke out the back. So its common knowledge that drive clean is just becoming another program to force you to buy a certain way. It may not work well on all us car guys, but to the soccer moms, old people, and pansy males, they would rather buy a new car then deal with all this hassle.

407 is on lease but prices and competition are controlled, based on the agreement with the province.
Ontario Hydro was broken apart yet still are public / private entities. Prices are controlled and competition is severly regulated.
Even TTC isn’t private since competition is regulated in TTC’s favor and fairs are artificially low because of subsidies (tax payer money).
Skydome/Rogers centre is owned by Robers and the only true private biz you mentioned, but like movie theatres charging $10 for small coke and popcorn, its part of the biz when your limited to events.

It’s gonna get worse, and from what I hear, if your cars got an engine swap, say peace to your car being allowed on the road. To the people that can afford a new car, all you can do is really not care because you CAN do what the government is basically making you do. In reality, the government does not care about you and your 22 year old rust bucket. Plain and simple. If you are worried about little things such as insurance, engine swaps, OPP/undercovers and all that other shit, then you should probably just take the bus or drive a caravan.
In real life, there is a system. There is the law, you learn it and you abide by it, however there are loopholes, many many loopholes (for example, the registering and importing of RHD vehicles in our Province). But these loopholes come at a hefty price. Then you’ve got resources (who you know, what they can do to give you the upper hand etc).
Stop bitching about the silliest things and either make some real money so you can fight the system, or find someone that can hook you up.
Here’s a little tidbit of information. By law, in Ontario, no automotive insurance company can refuse to insure you.
This is coming from a guy who owns a fully insured S13 ($1600/month) , with a swapped motor (passed dat e-test), and a DUI charge
