So I’m a potato because it would save a lot of people time and money. Yeah the fact is I’m 19, I’m not making a fuck load of money. Not a lot of 19 year olds can. Its worth a try and then more “veteran” SON members come in and shit on my thread. I put it up for the people that would actually want to sign it and know that at least people like them are trying. It’d make life a whole lot simpler. I get you’re older, you “know your stuff”, but stop talking down to me like I’m a naive little kid. Some shit I say might not make a lot of sense. I have a tough time actually saying what I do want to say. I wasted 5 minutes posting a thread, you’re wasting 1600 a month on insurance. Who’s sillier here? My friends got 3 DUI’s and he pays less then 600 a month still. My suggestion? Switch insurance companies.
As polite as I can be. You are extremely delusional if you think a petition like this will work.
As I’m sure its been mentioned (I don’t feel like reading every post). It is a government cash grab. If they eliminated the emissions test then they would lose x-amount of money yearly. Well that money would have to be generated else where then. So perhaps our income taxes go up. Or propriety taxes go up. Licenses renewal fees go up. Get the idea ? No matter what, you will pay.
They could come out and say OKAY! We are scrapping the Drive Clean Test. BUT… Everyone still has to pay a emissions fee of $35.00+HST or whatever. But then they admit it does nothing for the environment and open a can of worms on themselves. And we all know the government is not going to admit they were wrong… or that it is simply a cash grab.
The End.
Talk about delusional. Our government, both federal and provincial hasn’t run a balanced budget for awhile. If Ontario scraps the e-test, we will just run bigger deficits because it’s easier to get away with.
I hope you don’t store your money in a savings account lol, if you haven’t noticed, its losing value pretty quick, every extinct penny.
I don’t follow this at all so my understand is rather limited but the deficit is spending vs revenue no ? Spending goes up every year which then raises the deficit. That is a known fact, the government spends way more then it collects. So I highly doubt they would be willing to loose revenue by scraping the drive clean program.
deficit spending is basically borrowed money and ontarios debt is HUGE thanks obligations to social welfare programs.
If interest rates go up a bit, Ontario will bust by the cost to finance the debt. That means cuts to funding for social programs (which is good) but teacher, fire, police, etc funding are cut too. (Which is what pissed off the greeks)
Etest is too small to make a difference in funding. Cut it or go back to rollers, purposely screwing poor folks with ECU troubles is so wrong.
