They are called PTWs or Personal Training weapons, they are made to be the most accurate and realistic as humanly possible, some police departments use them for training and the NYARNG has started to use airsoft for training purposes as well.
like the russian said, they are exact replicas down to weight, size, functionality etc… only difference is they project bbs, not bullets.
And you’re wrong if you think the army never uses airsoft. The RSP program especially uses it, and uses it often. So relax bub
