I’m not a big fan of the cloth in my car…but i think the seats are extremely comfortable…you can get the leather seat skins which look really good for…6-700 dollars…but then i’m thinking for that price i can get new racing buckets and harnesses which might be nice for track days this summer…what to do
c. buy a bike… quit pissing money into a slow car :-p
thats a topic i’d like to avoid before the thrad gets out of hand - i dont really care how fast the car is…i dont think i have really pissed any money away on the car…i bought a smokin deal on a paint job…and thats all ive ever bought for the car…but i really like it and love driving it …the seats are just starting to look whooped
sparcos > any recovering, if your going to be tracking the car… but i dunno…
so instead of spending 600 bucks to make the interior that im in all day better ill spend 3500.
Get a quality pair of race seats.

i think hes got it… i will put money on it… if your careful and dont die, you will have more fun on a bike than 3x the money could afford in a car, but im done preaching bike bike bike… you know how i feel, u’ve been saying u were gonna buy a bike for over 2 years now :-p
I would…
Dump them and buy racing seats
OR
Find seats out of something else that are nice and swap them in.
I dont see the option to keep comfortable seats the way they are and not add fuel to the fire… ?!?

i know - i do like them…but i think the car looks very good, it has really nice styling, the dash and everything looks very nice but the seats being gray cloth are just such a downer for the whole car ya know
I actually understand what you are saying exactly.
The MR2 has very supportive and comfortable seats, but they don’t look like they fit the rest of the car.
Get some nice race seats if you can afford the coin and if it’ll make you happy.
-Find someone selling seats from a higher trim package Z.
-Install with no issues.
-Enjoy.
No point in redoing the seats when you could just upgrade.
Or
You know deep down this is the way to go. Besides the car is quite clean compared to how it started off. And the black should work just fine with the interior.
Im with Fuzzy…you can find a good set of stock leather seats for 350-500 on the boards.
Hell you can even get 350z seats to fit.
I would either find another OEM set or recover your before I’d go race seats unless you’re going to be doing a LOT of track time.
And even then, I don’t know if I’d go race unless they require a FIA seat.
I’m doing custom seats up for the Firebird; similar to Lafengas’s but more extreme with deeper seating, and more boulstering both leg, side, and shoulder; with holes for 5-pts integrated in. Seeing I can do the upolstery work too, it shouldn’t be that bad of a project.
:tspry:
if i had the option of stock leather or some nice sparcos…id take the sparcos. dont cheap out though.
Stock leathers will look better IMO
fuzzy’s got it.
stock leather seats. unless you want to track the car.
EDIT- reupholstering costs a damn fortune. and seats covers are gay.
