ses, then shut off randomly...

not sure. shit for what it would cost, id have a stage II kit installed, since it would need reflashed anyways then do that, if that would fix the probelm.

i did have it reset/cleared, so if its a memory error, maybe theres a possibility that something just got screwed up and now that its reset its all cool? i just cant see how the pcm can physically be bad at 50k, being 2 yrs old. or im just hoping , more than thinking logically?

Before my tuned PCM, my stocker gave me some problems. It shut the car off on me on 2 occasions. After getting the ZZP PCM it has given me zero problems.

At least with the GP, the factory always seems to be coming up with a reflash to fix bugs in the system. I would make sure yours is up to date.

ya, i dunno what to do. relash, stage II w/ reflash or replace the pcm etc.

Did you just put the intake on recently or have you had it on a while? I’m guessing you are out of warranty. The reduced engine light thing is what many call “Limp mode.” It is a safety feature really. If the PCM see’s something it doesnt like, it basically cuts your power and in your case, eventually cut out completely. My guess would be it has to do with your intake. These cars can be very sensitive to a non stock intake.

I would suggest checking out cobaltss.net or redlineforums.com for more information specific to the LSJ.

the Injen has been on for quite awhile. since june or so and i put like 100miles a day on the car. it does randomly throw a lean code (maybe 5 times total since its been on), then turns right back off before the day is over. if i just went to a gm stage kit and got a re-flash would that get rid of it?

It could possibly. I believe the most up to date flashes have fixed a lot of the problems with the aftermarket intakes. I have a K&N Filter with the bottom left off of my air box and have never thrown any codes. I had that set up since last October and did not get the stage flash until April.

ya i just called colussey and asked if they had updated flashes for the car and he basically didnt answer me. he said he’d have to run a diagnostic test to answer my question…i dont understand why. i am at the point right now, where i just wanna know if my pcm unit is physically gonna need replced or not. if not, then i can either get an updated reflash or just go ahead and get a stage kit w/ reflash to fix it.

bowser said it could be fixed and there are updates, but he also recomended a full diagnostic. if i get it diagnosed and find out it just needs a re-flas, then im kinda to the point where i dunno if i wanna spend whatever it is for the stock reflash, when i might mod later down the road. it might make sense at that point to just upgrade to a stage kit and have it set-up to go with those mods. but if its callin for a new pcm unit, then i guess thats a different story.

I feel like a lot of the techs don’t know if there is necesarily an updated flash for a car. I also wouldn’t take my car to collussey. I doubt they deal with many SS/SC’s. I have only every seen one on their lot and that was the yellow one they recently had. I had them do some warranty work on my turn signal one time and the tech said he never knew they made a supercharged model. If you are from around that area, I would suggest Sun. They did my stage flash there and told me they have done quite a few stage kit installs there.

well if i go that route, ill keep that in mind. im gonna wait and see what pewter has to say and go from there. really i just want this fixed so i dont get stranded…but stage 2 is def an option, if thatll fix it.

well i just talked to some clueless asshole at Sun that was calling the reflash update ‘aftermarket’ and also said that stage 2 upgrades are something that werent gm relatd and not something they would do…so i am not even gonna waste my time by dealing with them.
