Ok so the car is officially mine now. Now I have to ship it from florida. Anyone have any suggestions? I know I should use a “Shipper” and not a “broker”
I’ve seen das autoshippers… 737 to ship the car… is this about average?

DAS is a broker meaning lots of different shippers touch the car, many people have had good luck, some have had bad luck. I shipped a car to california with them without an issue and the buyer said it costed less than $700. Your mileage will vary.
I have heard good things about Horseless Carriage, I believe they are an independent shipper so they probably cost more.
Das sucks imo. I had a delivery date of mar 28 (i booked on mar13). still havn’t seen it. they will not call or e-mail to keep you updated. never again!
Dan…when i shipped mine home from tampa, i went with C&C auto transport. Great customer service and pretty good price. took about 3-4-days
it would be cheaper to fly down on friday and get it and drive it back up
i wouldnt use DAs.But that price is cheap for this time of year.I got mine from the miami area and i couldnt find one under 1k since its their busy season.
This is true. You will save a ton of money
I flew down with a friend.Got a new tire mounted on a holiday weekend.Went to a sabres game in carolina in the playoffs and it still was only like $5-600
Yeah for all the problems I’ve read of people having here, its seems to me that its a 50/50 shot of getting a good company.
I would fly and drive like the others said.
I am 4 for 4 with trusty transport. Over ~4 years.
Not a single complaint out of me. And I think trueblue used them for his old stang too.
:search:
Driving it back would be so much fun.
Assuming it’s a car capable of making the trip with no worries of breakdown I vote for fly and drive too. I had a blast on my trip to Wilmington to get the GTO. Even if you have to pick some cheap motel to stay at one night and do the trip over two days it would still be worth it.
I dunno… florida is ~24 hours (to tampa at least)… If you just pay gas thats about $300. Plus BK, Redbull, oh, and Your TIME.
I’d rather pay $600 and have it delivered door to door and spend my day doing more productive things, rather then spending $350 + plane fare getting down there + two days.
:gotme:
Looking at the fares flying down on Wednesday is a 84 dollar ticket (friday = 200) So “Geoff” said he would go with me. My largest concern is trusting the shipper, I would end up paying insurance + top of the truck + blah + blah = 1200 dollars later.
I’m looking into the temp registration, but it says i have to pay insurance (Which i have already) and the sales tax (which would require the title and what not right?). If thats the case i might as well just register the fucking car and fly down and get it and not have to deal with the temp bullshit.
So flying = 84 X 2 + taxes 110 X 2 = 220
Gas = 250 (if the car gets 20mpg and gas at $4 per gallon)
so 470 compared to 1200 which it almost makes it worth it to me…
With that said. Anyone wanna go to florida with me if Geoff cannot for what ever reason lol
