 i now know why you liked all those shitty beers :-p
So I’ve always been able to eat hot spicy foods without a hitch right? Like…suicidal wings without so much as a hiccup…lmao not anymore! I just had a medium super mighty that just about knocked me off my feet lol. This is awesome.
you’re going to become a food snob. Just wait, try any pasta dish and you’ll understand. You’ll taste every herb and spice and anyone watching you eat will think that you’re stoned out of your mind since it’ll take you 20 minutes to swallow the first bite.
That is something I can live with
I can’t wait to actually taste the amazing beer I’ve always loved, in HD sense of taste lol.
For those of you interested in having the proceedure performed, I just found a Q&A on everything to do with Septoplasty, after reading it I can say that it is 100% accurate.

I had this done in 98. Best thing I have ever done. The change in the quality of life is amazing.
Update? I’m going in for my first appt this afternoon!
Well my stitches are starting to dissolve in my left side, and the septum is scabbing up nicely, although it’s kinda like having a hard booger in your nose you can’t pick out lol.
I still am a bit stuffed up, mainly because I can’t blow my nose yet, it’s still a little sore. But when I use the nettipot, Holy Shit I can breathe so much better!
Still, even though the first few days suck, I’d do this all over again in a heartbeat.
glad everything went ok!
now the penis enlargement operation is nothing to worry about! just kidding!
take care
bump!
I just had this done today with Dr. Chimel. It all went very smoothly and I am very pleased with his work.
Definitely feeling some discomfort at the moment but the meds are helping. looking forward to having the packing removed tomorrow!
I cant remember when I could smell properly or breathe through my nose.
Awesome, hope it works out for you.
I decided to get retested for allergies since i’ve always been on meds for those as well. 4 weeks ago I went to Dr. Green’s in west seneca and got tested… On a scale of 0-4, i was a 3-4 on EVERYTHING… except dogs, of which i am not allergic to at all
So now I get 3 shots every week for the next six months, then hopefully switching to every other week. I’ve already seen an improvement though… Most of the blockage in my sinuses (according to dr green) is caused by swelling and irritation from my allergies, and since i’ve been breathing about 50% better after just 3 weeks I think I’m a believer.
Awesome! You’re gonna love it when they vacuum out all the crap and you take the first deep breath through your nose, it’s amazing lol. Keep me posted
Yeah will do. Im on my phone now so posting is annoying as hell but once i am back at my apt tomorrow after they remove the packing ill give a more in depth update.
Motox, were you spitting up a lot of blood day one? Im certainly doing that now and my throats sore as hell from breathing through my mouth. All in all though it’s not as bad as i thought!
Lol, expect to be doing that for a bit till it all actually heals. Mine was worse cuz I had adenoids removed too but yeah it’s normal.
Be VERY careful blowing your nose after you feel better, it’ll still hurt like a biotch lol.
haha word, thanks.
OH. MY. GOD.
What a difference today has made. I went to my follow up visit this morning where he removed the packing and stints, what a great feeling! Last night was rough because of how plugged up I was. HUGE HEADACHE. Today I feel so damn good. It’s amazing.
In all he straightened my deviated septum, removed a few pollops (sp) and took out quite a large cyst from my right side. Still a bid sore today but I am eager to see how I feel in a couple weeks!
If anyone here has chronic sinus issues and sinus infections, please do yourself a favor and see Dr. Chimel. I could not be happier!
I’ve been dealing with this exact set of problems for nearly 30 years between bad allergies, ill-constructed sinuses, having numerous broken noses and never going to a doctor, etc. I have probably had less than one nostril semi-clear all of my adult life. I can eat some seriously hot stuff, as described by others, without much ado. Sleep has been sporadic and fragmented. No wonder I’m so grouchy…
My brother had this surgery, same problems you describe and that I have and he says it made a world of difference…and definitely neti-pot FTW.
After hearing all this, I have to say that I think I’m going to have it done. Now, to find enough time to take off work…
bump, Motocrossx23 and Maxwell, curious as to your thoughts now that it’s been several months since your surgeries. I’m working every weekday in August but plan to see a doctor first thing in September to see what they say. I have been battling allergies for years, but have just seemed to live with it. I don’t know if my case is as bad as the both of yours though. I need to give this neti-pot a go since I have never tried it, that may be enough to make all the difference. But I still wanted to get your guys’ thoughts now post surgery and post recovery.
Still amazing. No blockage at all, no more sinus infections, no more dull sense of smell or taste.
