SIRIUS question

I usually hang out on the computer, I am a super fast installer. so i have alot of downtime

That’s cause the Sirius satilites in orbit rotate around the US. the XM satilites are stationairy and high powered. Don’t mind me, I had to learn this when I worked at best buy…

umm is there such a thing as a stationary satellite? By definition a satellite orbits. [Vern I think thats why you don’t work there anymore]

Sirius uses 3 satellites on an elliptical geosynchronous orbit that moves along with the rotation of the earth but the latitude changes. The orbits of each satellite are such that there is supposed to be at least one satellite over the US at anytime. I am not sure of the amount, if any, of Sirius’s repeaters. I am sure they have to have some but not sure of how many.

XM uses satellites on a geostationary geosynchronous orbit. That doesn’t mean the satellite doesn’t move, it means that move along with the rotation of the earth but its latitude never changes. There is one satellite at 85W and one at 115W. That means the US is the main focus for XM programming. XM also has 900 terrestrial repeaters.

As for why your units are breaking, you are in idiot.

I’m kidding, but you really are an idiot.

We have at least one a week: Sirius or XM Antenna die for no reason. Replace it and everything is fine again.

i’m going to try a new antenna today.

edit: yep. antenna was shit. let’s see how long this one lasts.

oh man for some reason i thought the original post was from big v. I didnt mean to call you an idiot. I meant to call him one.
