skyline coil help!!

Ok so i’ve had some problems with misfiring lately and its gradually getting worse. I’ve narrowed it down to the coils specifically number 5. I’ve been searching around and i’ve heard mixed feelings about replacing a single coil rather than the whole set. Is it really a big deal if you put one brand new or even used plug in to replace a pooched one?
Additionally has anybody had any coils poop out one them after using this method—> http://forums.gtrcanada.com/viewtopic.php?t=6237
If i can follow that procedure rather than replace them then great for me!
Any negative long term side effects of using this method.
All my coils are registering 0.8-0.9 ohms so obviously it not an impedance issue. But the non conductive coating on the bottom of the coils where they contact the cradle is all worn out. Could this be whats given me grief?

normally when a coil goes its gone for good. Replacing one is not a bad idea. They are an extreamly common problem. I have changes many many of them in series 1 and even 2. They are just plane getting old and they stop working or get a crack. You have series 1 coils. You can get them from any RB20/25/26 series 1. There all the same. Series 2 has the coil pack built on the inside of them and they have a hump just so you know how to tell them apart.

We carry many of these in stock soon. Our stock container will be arriving in about a month. If you need a couple let me know. I normally have that stuff kickin around the house in Leth and we have many more on the way for replacing series 1 and series 2
