Small rust spot removal?

I have a very small rust spot on the hood of my lexus, probably one inch long by 1/8 inch wide. Any idea what a shop would charge to fix that and respray the front bumper?

I’m going to drive around for estimates probably. I would most likely go to Dave @ Paintworx, but the job doesn’t have to be perfect for this.

Disregard how dirty the car is right meow.

Also interested! Have like 2 nickel-sized joints on the MR2’s rear quarters.

Who cares! Leave it.

May sell, would rather it be gone for resale… ya know?

:lol

Need more than touch up for this? Although I could probably sand it myself, but I don’t know how that would go…

Try it yourself.

Worst that will happen and you f it up so it will require professional fix.

Labor wise the fix would be nearly the same as just the spot removal.

If you see the rust there, its already focked. To do it right its a cut out and patch job. What year is the car? There is about $170-$250 in materials to respray a hood and bumper cover. If I wasnt uber busy I could respray it for you after I scabbed in a filler piece and such.

i fixed the rust under the evo wing. water gets traped under there and there was 2 spots of rust where the bolts come through. came out good.

If you take it to a shop expect around $400-600+

2002 IS300… let me know. I dont need the bumper done, just the rust spot really.

I just figured do the bumper while your there.

not sure what shops ur going to.

IM me the VIN. Ill forward it to my paint guy to see how much materials would cost.

What u mean?

Dump coca cola on a cloth and rub furiously.

My friend just fixed a similar rust spot on my passenger fender.

His information is the vendor information thread. Stop by his place on Essex St. in Albany for a quote. Tell him you know me from the forum, maybe he’ll work with you. He sanded, bondo’ed, sanded, and painted my fender without ever taking it off the car or removing anything (other than the mud flaps so he could color match). Came out awesome.

Find a hood in good condition, same color.

call j.b.a.p in hudson falls prolly cheaper than any other option

id def try to do it your self, why not? if it comes out bad atleast the rust is gone and you can then goto said shop
