Having a but in your car makes it stink very very bad…
When I did smoke I rarely smelled of smoke… My hair might have a little… but leaving butts in your car would make a car stink… say what you want… yea it’s bad… I never threw out my butts when there was a car close to me… or anytime there was a bike that I could see in my rear-view. I know it’s littering… but I wasn’t fucking any ones car up… Unless you were too close to me… then sometimes’ you’d get the old butt on hood because I was pissed off at ppl who’s headlights were burried in my bumper

Just this week I tossed a bunch of resumes in the garbage because they smelled like smoke when I received them.
With my 18 years of experience I have found that probably 99% of the employees that are a problem are smokers.
I would also estimate that 100% of employees with poor attendance are smokers.
Also, smokers feel like they are special and deserve extra breaks everyday.
I also note on applications when I interview someone that smells like a digusting ashtray.
When an employee told me he needed more money for his kids I asked if he smoked, he walked away.

Its proven statistically that A) ppl who smoke are less productive. I dont know if its because they take more breaks or are slackers in general, but statistics show this trend. B) ppl who smoke cost companies more money in health care benefits.
I think there was a company somewhere(NYC maybe), that was instituting a no smokers policy at the office. They gave employees like a half-year or sumn to quit smoking, and if they didnt, they were fired. The morning of instituting the new policy, they gave ppl breathalizers to see if they had been smoking, and MANY ppl were fired. This company did offer help in quitting in the form of support groups. So yes, companies can do this.
p.s. - i wouldnt go around on boards flaming ppl on ur first post, good way to never get any help around here.
isnt that like profiling? I mean… can they legally do that? Statistics say alot of things… especially with races (I’m sure you can draw your own conclusions). Would that be right?
I dont know… that seems like a law suit waiting to happen (especially if someone they fired, only smoked on designated brakes).
hell… even a few people I work with dont even smoke while their here (wait to go home to do it).
edit: btw, people with disabilities cost heath care alot of $$$ too… should their application/resume be thrown out too?
and heavy drinkers. and overeaters. and seperated parents.
but you can’t “smell” those on a resume.
I heard black ppl are pretty lazy too…
