Snapped Sway Bar Bolt

I was removing my stock sway bar to intall the suspension techniques set that I bought, and one of the bolts snapped. What’s the best way to get it out? I want to heat it up with a small propane torch, drill it, and get it out with a tap set, except for I think the bolt is to close to another part (which has a plastic jacket, which I don’t want to melt). Any ideas about what I should do? This is on a 95 Honda Accord …

P.S. I’ll post pics when my lil sis tells me where the damn digital camera is lol

hammer a easy out in

Oh yeah, I forgot that I tried to get the bolt out awhile ago. I drilled the hole, put the easy out in the hole, tried to spin the easy out / bolt and it snapped in the hole.

I just tried to drill out the easy out, but that aint working … there isn’t any way either to grab the part of the bolt thats left …

well its not going to budge so get the drill out and be careful

get a mans torch and burn the sucker off

umm to easy out a bolt you use the ones that go on the ousside of it…

obviously

If you broke an easy out in there you’re never going to be able to drill it out. You have to try to remove the easy out first, It’s hardened steel and you’ll probably just break the bit or chew it up. The way that i’ve had luck with is a good steel punch and a hammer. Basically you have to shatter the easy out. If you have access to it, you may try spraying it w/ freon. If you get it out, about the only way to repair the problem is to drill the rest of the bolt out. After that you can either re-tap the hole or use a Heli-Coil.
