That was then, this is now. People have the right to be pissed when they use our tax dollars to create this “great system” and it FAILS. Im not saying people arent responsible for themselves, they are. But when youre told there is a system to prevent this, and it doesnt work, people are going to get pissed.
^ Really shows the problem with the thruway. If the trucks would stick to one lane getting it open wouldn’t take more than a few hours with some high lifts. Blast open one lane, use that lane to get the vehicles out. But no, lets run side by side so we have to extract one vehicle at a time.
It’s poor and stupid people causing issues on side streets. Stupid slut in a Kia almost got stuck in front of my house, 8 of us digging gave her the finger telling her to get off the road and she ended up beached into a snow bank a block up from me.
It took me probably close to 2-3 snow blowing sessions on Tuesday to clear a path wide enough for one car to the street. Wednesday was much better as a front end loader cleared a small path on the street, but that was another hour of digging past the berm at the end of the driveway. I probably have close to 10 hours of snowblowing in since Monday.
I have a video of our subdivision I will try to upload as well as more pics off my wife’s phone. 4’ minimum everywhere, the drifts are much higher in places.
People in charge should be held responsible.
A system was created using tax payer dollars to prevent this correct? Yes
Did the system work? No.
The system failed soooo lets blame the people?
If this is how it is where you work please get me an application. Sounds like fun.
Another example of a “broken” alert system.
The 290 has electronic signs letting people know how long the wait is at the bridges and to buckle up because its the law. The morning that the 190 closed, cops were steup to stop people from jumping on. This created a huge back up near the grand island bridge and water tower etc.
Did any of those signs say the 190 was closed…no
Did someone know prior to 7am that the 190 was going to be closed…yes
Dont you think someone should have updated the signs letting people know this? Now, if the signs did say “190 closed, find another route” (like it did the next day) and people still tried to get on, then its the peoples fault
I went back to the gym about a month ago and am quite thankful. If I wasn’t conditioned both my stamina and muscles would have gave out after the 1st wave. My snowblower was basically a heavy ass shovel at first. Layers upon layers.
