That seems fair. I mean these people made the choice to drive into a storm, get stuck then abandon their vehicles where they made getting the roads open impossible without someone else doing all the work to free their vehicle.

water tables are not at a perfectly level line. that particular location could have had a high water table even though it was on a hill. or the builder was used to building in swampland Amherst and thought it was necessary.

water fed sump pumps are an option as well for a backup. just throw a shutoff valve in there when you don’t have to use it to conserve water.

I am not sure what you mean about a water table. There is a hill that the water can drain down without a pump.

thank you! at least some people get it, everyone’s pissed but were not volunteer’s like we were being told we should be, this is what we do for a living and how we make our money. it was 48 hours of non stop digging winching and towing lol

Its funny I have seen numerous facebook posts regarding people having to pay and acting like they are victimized by the storm while plenty of others who listened and didn’t go out during the weather don’t. Flip the situation and ask them to do their job for free out of the kindness of their hearts because there are people in need and I bet they would get pissed.

Sad part about the people complaining is that they wouldn’t expect the paramedics and plow drivers to be working for free. They just have disdain for tow truck companies so they lash out.

I went out into the weather and brought a couple hundred with me just on case. Be prepared for the worst or don’t try.

the way I put it was if I was towing and crushed my hand hooking up a car in the storm, I would get charged for an ambulance or the dr to fix my hand right? they kept saying “its a state of emergency how can you charge us!” the emt’s and what not would have no problem sending me a bill. there the ones complaining the most
