So I pulled the trigger

95 DOHC going in. Not sure if I will be running it with the standalone engine management or not. Depends if I have enough time to re-wire the car. Too much other stuff on the ajenda, motor I usually worry about in April.

I’m going to miss my SOHC’s :frowning:

Andrew.

if ur car is now alrdy a trailer queen
y not do side exhaust on it???

I don’t have a need to. Not all race cars have side exhaust.

Dunville and Cayuga already give me problems, could you imagine with side exhaust.

ic…
well i’m not saying every race car need side exhuast
is just side exhuast looks kinda cool imo…

i saw a blue s13 hatch with a side exhaust (two pipes or something) and it had a ‘v8 hood’ but stock rims and tires LOL so I doubt it had a v8 underneath, it actually said V8 on the side of the hood (huge camaro/89/90s mustang GT cobra style hood)

Fair enough. I’m a meat and potato kinda guy
My old exhaust was similar to this, so thats why I kept it this way.

Andrew.

This is way off topic but I noticed andrew you mentioned a Kaaz 1.5 way.

Am I the only one who didn’t know until yesterday that the diff oil needs to get changed on a clutch type diff (ie: Kaaz, Nismo, etc) every 8000 kilometers or less?

Apparently Kaaz recommends 8000klm for street driving and 3-5k for track

… and to think I almost bought a Kaaz when I did a group buy a while back… SCREW THAT

Not sure what they recommend for oil changers, however the more you change oil the better.

I don’t own a 1.5 kaaz yet, but even my VLSD, I use to change the oil at least once a season, sometimes twice.

Andrew.

Of course Kaaz recomends you change the oil ever 8k… they also recomend that you only use their oil. Do you see a conflict here?

But still, having to change the diff oil 5 or 6 times per season or more for some people does not sound like a good time. I’m way too lazy to be dealing with something like that

Hey Drew where you working on your car??

Ditto, that’s why I’m installing a Hoist in my garage.

I need a gurage with spaceso I can just work on my Crappy car

Thats actually worse for it then letting it sit. As with my bike, I’d recommend filling the tank and putting in fuel stabilizer, driving it to get the stabilizer into the lines, then run it only if you need to move it.

Andrew that zorst gave me the sex wee 8) And the 'ol DOHC will live on!

After busy month at school, finally got another day done on car last weekend.

Passenger side rocker I fabricated, its getting there. Had to redo small section of inner rocker as well.

Andrew.

Ricerrrrrrrrrrrr :stuck_out_tongue:

Got some more work done. Cars back on 4 wheels after putting subframe bushings in, which was a big pain in the ass. Cars has all bits needed to drop DOHC in, just swaping a new front cover on the motor.
