Also, how he is removing budget ceilings on scouting and finding new talent/developing players.

I’m loving it so far.
Actually got teary eyed looking over to Gilbert Perreault. He listened to WGR in Pittsburgh, seems like an awesome guy and true hockey fan… His daughters are hot too.
Starting today the reason for the Buffalo Sabres existance is winning the stanley cup!
I’m going to be the negative nancy here, but I will believe it when I see it happening. don’t get me wrong, this guy sounds great but it seems that Buffalo sports have always been full of big hyped promises and yet we still not seen results…
Maybe our football team just sucks so bad that it spills over to hockey, but lets see some hope out of our friggen team!!!
Trade deadline’s in a week, but I think it’s too soon to hope he’ll be making impacts. Or is it?
I would honestly be surprised to see if they make any moves, but the good news is that Darcy has been in his position for a while. He might have some tricks up his sleeve knowing that Pegula would give him free reign overs trades without a cap or clearing it by pegula first.
Well hopefully if we acquire anyone, we won’t have to settle for a Raffi Tores or Steve Bernier
Maybe its also just that I HATE basketball, but seriously sportscenter? The 110th richest man in the world just paid $189 million dollars for a national hockey league and your still just going to continue to talk about the Knicks acquiring Carmelo Anthony?
DIAF SPORTSCENTER
Large market NYC team and big money player vs some guy spreading false hope for a small market hockey team with no championships… I wonder what America would rather listen to.
Like I said, I will believe it when I see it. Buffalo sports seem to be build on false hopes and dreams. If he wanted a winning team in Buffalo, he should have bought the Bandits. Throwing money at the team to win a cup would be cool and would be nice to have him run the team like Stienbrenner ran the Yankees and dumping all revenue back into the team but to grow it and sustain it to hold a championship level player budget and would take a environment to support it and that just doesn’t exist in Buffalo IMO.
I guess we get to see if it was Lindy and Darcys fault or a money thing.
I have to disagree with you on this statement. I totally think that it would be a perfect spot for it. I would bet that season ticket sales will go up just from the purchase. Buffalo is a very sports oriented city. The fact that our football team sucks, everyone jumps on the Sabres wagon.
Just a fyi but he did buy the Bandits
one is 16/17 with an apparent boyfriend, and the other is 14.
He did buy the Bandits, the sabres own them and were part of the deal. Although he called them the Bisons in the press conference by mistake.
I think Pegula can sustain a championship team with little fan support due to his net worth. He seems willing to spend the $ without the finanical returns that Golisano was very concerned about.
Aquired in the deal, yes.
17 you say?
word, her name is jessie. the younger one is kellie.
Ok the Bisons thing confused me. I heard that and thought he bought every sports team but the only winning one: the Bandits.
it takes a lot of money to sustain a championship team. there is times when a team of nobodys does great things but typically you need the staff to develop and recruit talent, money to hold it, and then incentive to keep your players once they get experience. buffalo is a small town compared to most of the other markets and I see that even if we did acquire talent, after a few years they would leave and we would keep rebuilding.
i think his changes may bring a playoff capable team like in 2007 but I don’t think someone with money alone can keep a winning team and star players from going elsewhere and using Buffalo as a bargaining method to earn more somewhere else.
