i made an edit just for you. next time when you post in a thread look over the contents of the conversation taking place and read the posts before you make a post, reading includes looking at links made in the posts
I’m the exact same way, I drive manual and have never owned an auto. Though my little sister has the exact same car as mine other than its an auto and mine is a manual. First few times I drover her car I came to some very quick stops by the way of my left foot looking for the clutch.
Gee sorry I dident click that link because it was a few threads down and dident realize it was related to that…
I posted based on the pictures I saw and what you said
I’m pretty sure he’s been here for the vast majority of his life, genius.
My…audi’s 1.8 Pressure plate of like what 3/4 inch metal snapped in 4 places.
I thought “my” but wrote “I” weird.
ok :rofl
ok then davie boy how do you suppose you stop roll back without usin the e-brake I hope you dont let the clutch out a little until you stop moving.
Just wait until the car in front of you moves and drive away like normal?
Heel toe the bitch
ok you can do that to I guess, whenever I do that I always just get a little tiny bit of rollback but w.e :ponder
i do that anyways?
I guess VW FTW 'cause those cars are so friendly to drive I never really have a problem with rolling back any big amount.
yeah if I dont do anything about it I roll back just a little before I start moving, no big deal unless some fuckwad decided to see how close to your bumper he can get
r u srs?
guess so? :confused
mash the gas and dump the clutch as fast as you can ;D
:lol tires cost money I’d rather not burn them up as fast as I can but that would sure as fuck get somebody off your bumper :lol
Take this little tid bit in for a minute…
1/4 ounce weight spinning at 100rpm on a 4" circle weighs about 2lbs. Take that same 1/4 ounce piece, on a 4" spinning center, and spig it to 8000 rpm…it now has a “weight” of ~120lbs. Now imagine what a ~1/2 lb chunk of pressure plate “weighs” when it breaks free from a clutch spinning at 9K+ rpm on a ~12-14" circle ;D Kaboom!
i don’t get the huge debate about rolling back on a hill :confused :wtf You’re going to roll a little bit, so what…i’ve stalled on a hill maybe once and it was in my first car, a '99 Civic coupe, and it was like my first week of driving stick.
I remember trying to learn stick on my old ranger 4x4 4 speed. Ouch. Takes awhile to get the hills down, especially really, really, steep troy hills.
I haven’t driven a stick in so long :sad
Starting on hills with a LTW Flywheels is a pain in the dick, however I can definitely start off on a fairly steep hill/driveway without rolling back…
And if I do it can’t be more than a 1/2" at most…just comes with practice.
