So yea, I pulled a n00b...

…decided to plug my battery in in the dark…and reversed hooked the
terminals. :noes:

Luckily it only went on for like 5 sec (and my ECU and ignitor weren’t
hooked up) but it did its damage.

Blew the alternator fuse. (The grey fuse in the main fuse tray near
battery up front - for those that don’t know) :pat:

Will CT have these or is it a Nissan only part?

What a bitch too considering yesterday went great (got my car back from
the shop - much thanks to Varun  ).

hopefully, junkyard? sonling? I have an extra engine fuse box, hehe

Think u gotta go to Nissan for that. I think it’s called a relay. Try picking one up from somebody’s parts car.

I dunno who to get it off off…damn it, I was excited to fire up the car this
weekend too. :run:

I’ll try Nissan this Sat. if nothin works out…hopefully they use it in other
cars and have it in stock.

Dang, I did that once on my friend’s mazda, when I took off his battery to put it in my 240 when I changed the starter (my battery was dead).

When I put it back on his car it was dark and i put it on the wrong way, the short in the main fuse was so intense the fuse welded itself to the damn slot.

I couldn’t take it out, I shoved a screw in the fuse and he went to a garage the next day, he got charged 50$ to replace that fuse… lol

$50? :noes:

He took it to a shop to replace a fuse? :wtf:

My fuse just cracked (the wire inside)…I didn’t leave it on too long or run
any acccessories (other then the door being open which activated the
cockpit lights)…

If you can’t find one by sunday give me a call and I might be able to get you one.

Right on…will do.

Anyone else? :fingersx:

haha, ill admit i did it too, but i have a better excuse…
i think it was $17 at nissan, 1 bus. day. 75A right?

i’ve done it before too man. Same shit…alt fuse. I grabed one off a parts car. The car will still fire but interior lights for some reason will be bugy since I think that fuse is used for other things as well.

Andrew.

I vote you can get fusable links or just regular fuses that will suit your needs at CT.

You could find get a circuit braker in case you want to hook up batteries in the dark more often and get tired of replacing fuses.

I dont make mistakes ever with electricals. This is probablly the first time
Ive blown a fuse by accident.

Shit…so close yet so far… :frowning:

I did that once on a Audi A4 quattro at work… There was smoke coming out of that bitch!..Yup fried everything. I was lucky no one saw it so then they blamed Pedro…poor Pedro I think he got deported.

Sell It

I call BS, that’s a Simpsons’ quote :stuck_out_tongue:

Well I called Nissan; they have one in stock for like $12…

I’ll grab it since it’s most convinient…to those that offred help (you konw
who you are), thanks…I appreciate it.

i thought this topic content would be about the sr you bought

Well it was the KADE fuse box and my stupidity :o

The SR gets fired up today so prepare to see some crazy
“OMG SOMETHING IS WRONG” type threads in the next few hours :noes:

I call BS, that’s a Simpsons’ quote :P[/quote]
