If you are deff going to get a somewhat fun car then honestly daily can really be about just getting around. I think a gas golf would be a great dd in cali for ya.

Mike I completely agree with Tyler here. I just got back from vacation in Miami for a week and I know exactly what hes saying. You know you want a 335 and you have for sometime, I say go for it man. You never know how long you’ll be able to enjoy it and enjoy life, go for the 335i :tup:

or get a s2k that you’ve also liked a ton because they are nice and can be had for cheap. with the weather getting nice you could drive it to cali easily.

335 isnt completely outta the question, im just debating on spending that much on a dd vs if its worth it

i mean a project car wouldnt be my first step out there, gotta get settled in and such but eventually id get in on something

Didn’t realize the 335d’s were that expensive. They only get mpg in the 30’s because they are a 6 cyl that has over 400ft/lb’s of torque stock, not a 4 cyl. Not too often you get a car that handles, has that much torque, and still gets 30+ mpg. I bet they could make a whole bunch of power with a tune too. But it looks like the price will exclude them.

I’m not sure what my driving style will be like in Cali. Could be a small commute or a lot.

I skimmed the rest of the thread from here…so if I’m being redundant, my apologies.

My $.02 is to wait until you’re out there to buy a car. Pick up something for a few thousand dollars here for the time being if you need to get around…but if you really don’t know what your lifestyle will be like, then you could be making the wrong purchase by guessing now. You may switch gears completely and want to be in a Jeep Wrangler to enjoy the dessert, sun, and beach year round…

if i went for something other then a vw id be down with sporty

id consider an a3 tdi, but idk… bit more then im looking to spend and they dont make them in quatro and i wouldnt wanna spend 30k on a fwd car…
