I finally got may car running today and it is running super rich. What would cause it to run so rich it looks like it is smoking out the back but to burns your eyes like fuel. Also it sounds like it might be missing.
Could that be the wiring for the MAF?
If it’s missing there will be a lot of unburned fuel sent down the exhaust. MAF problems can cause crappy running/rich conditions as well. Spark plug wires on properly?
spark plugs / spark plug gap, coilpacks, fuel pressure regulator. maf, o2 sensor ???
start there and see …

What is the proper plug gap for an SR
The stock gap is 1.1mm. But, 0.8mm if boosting more than stock psi.
You could also have a stuck injector as well, had the same issue with a previous RB20 build I did.
thats if there is stock temp rated plugs in there but yea those are the right numbers

I have found that one of my spark plugs is wet after I run the engine for a bit. It must not be firing there. I will post what I turn up.
i had the same problem after i put shitty plugs in my 180, then i put a set of NGK’s in and it ran like a new car. Part number is BKR7EIX Hyper IXtreme Iridium haha
This happened to a friend of mine too, turns out one of the lower injector o-rings was ripped when installed (even though it was well lubricated).
Just thought I’d mention it incase you run out of possibilites.
I need to check my injectors I think. I switched two coils around and now none of the plugs are wet on the tip. But I have rewired the MAF and checked plug gap and it is firing right up and then it wont even hold idle it just spits a bit then it stalls. Could it be that my O2 sensor isnt even pluged into anything?
