Hey guys,
Just wondering what some numbers you guys are getting for fuel economy for those of you running any type of SR20DET or CA18DET. Thanks.
572 Kms on this tank. About half highway, half city but there was a track day involved.
SR @ 14PSI
i have a SR with 13PSI, and a ECU with safer air/fuel ratio, intake, exhuast, MAF, FMIC, stock injectors and fuel pump. probably in the area of 230-250HP.
i get about 350KM city, and just over 500KM highway.
Ii get 320km city/ 500 hwy on my stock CA
400ish city on a ca18 t28bb at 12 psi
never been on the highway long enough to get an accurate reading
I get between 500-550. Lots of highway though. SR at 12psi.
14 on straight 91 pump, or are you using Husky/Mohawk 94? (or other)
CA at 10 psi gets me close to 500 on the highway and about 350-400 in town.
lucky …

I use both. I have found my gas milage is basicly the same between the two fuels. Shell V-power and husky 94

Well, what I was wondering was are you getting away with 14 psi on straight 91 octane with zero detonation?
(I’ve been able to in the past as well, as long as I stuck to shell gas, but I’ve backed off a bit this year. I’m running 13-13.5 psi these days to play it safe).
Is it true that you can get your ECU tuned for Canadian gas to improve fuel economy? if you have a JDM car for example.

Yes with 91 my a/f are perfect on they dyno. At a dyno day last year i could not hear ANY detonation, while most other turbo cars you could. I have a JDM ecu so i just retarted my timing 1 or 2 degrees. Works like a charm.
Im gettin close to 450km to a tank city driving on my SR but only doing 9 psi right now due to a nasty exhaust leak.
the SR or KA tranny have a wider fifth gear, but the CA trannies gearing are nice for accel, but are too short on my opinion…
…why i hate taking my ca on the highway!

then swap to a KA tranny!!! i did!!!
What would a CA rev at on the highway in fifth at a hundred with a KA?
