Start em young...

Begin with nice older Beretta .22

Make some scary chipmunk face targets

Hold an hour long safety class with the kids

Hand unloaded gun to 11 year old (who’s already graduated from Airsoft, to pellet, to .22 pump rifle)

Start working with stance (this will take some more work, obviously), and hand placement (tough, considering small hands)

And then start emptying mags

Unfortunately, we only had 100 rounds available, so it went fairly quickly. But took the time afterwards to strip the gun down, and go through a cleaning and lubrication class. All in all, a damn good Sunday.

good to see you taking the right steps and taking em “early”

but, uh, poor trigger manners in pic 3?

It does look like it, but it’s definitely not covering the trigger. They know that rule well. Enough that if the trigger is covered and they’re not pointing downrange, it’s end of gun day for them

I need to hit the range one night this week.

I’ve still never gone, mainly cause I don’t own a firearm. Looks like fun though.

Looks like a good start to a counterzombie clan

It’s definitely an experience that everyone should try, but I stress a safety/training course first.

LOL…maybe not with a .22.

However, depending on how they progress, in a couple of years, I’ll let them throw a couple of rounds through my mini-cannon (S&W Model 29 .44 mag, 6-3/4 barrel)

That is some good clean family fun right there…

 Good to see people still have common sense and teach their kids well.

Awesome.

Hey man, good on you! That’s about where I was when I started shooting.

thats how my dad did it with me, and where i got my respect for guns from.

First off-I had no idea you spawned Jason, let alone twice. I bet it takes some self control to not walk into Black Forest and shot all the freaking broken VAG products.

I miss living out in the country where I had lots of places I could go shoot for free. Most of the time now I drop the $18.xx to go to the indoor range on NFB.

I just purchased my first pistol, (I had one before, but it was a gift, still have it, its an old revolver)…

I need to get out and put some rounds through it, soon

Women in your family are lefties, men are righties. Interesting.

I thought I saw an Obama stick on Jason’s car. Now I am really confused:D

As was I

Agreed

Well…they’re actually Laura’s. I’m a step…but I’m good at it.
However, there’s a good reason I don’t come into work armed, and that’s one of them.

Oddly, I’ve only shot at a range twice in my life, despite having a bunch of shooting experience.

See above…

I swing both ways

Bump em up to the .40SW. My wifes not much bigger than your daughter and she drives tacks. Concerns me from time to time.
