Is anyone on here able to street tune an AEM EMS, if so let me know. I will supply the wideband and Laptop.
Jay from Hybrid is the only person I know that tunes AEM. Do you have a base map already setup? I have street tuned a car before, not an AEM. It was not exactly easy… but we got it done.
i have the basemap for the stock injectors running now. I am trying to get it street tuned before i get to hybrid so i don’t have to tow the car. I am thinking of just cutting out boost and driving it w/ stock injectors to get it there.
where are you at? when are you going to hybrid?
aem has a auto tune feature man. just use that and stay out of boost. It is there so you can drive it safely to your tuner as long as you don’t boost it
I heard bad things about the auto tune. I am located in the north hills, and I will be going to hybrid either the last week of this month or the first week of january…
My buddy with an Eclipse GST used the auto tune to break in his motor(3K miles). If it can work for that it will work to drive you to hybrid.
do you have a wide band? will auto tune work with out it?
are you even boosted yet?
Do some research on the AEM EMS and try doing a little tuning yourself out of boost. Then if you figure out what you are doing go a little into a very low boost. Steet tuning is really not that hard and any tuning you can do off the dyno is going to save $$$ in the end as the dyno time is just spent cleaning up and tweaking for best power output. That being said, if you are clueless as to cars or computers just tow the damn thing to hybrid. Of course, if that’s the case, I would question why the hell you would buy the AEM in the first place if you never intended to mess with it yourself. Just my $.02
I have played with it for the last week here and there. I got the basmape for the N/A injectors running fine. I Am installing the entire kit on the 27th and 28th. And yes, I will have the Wideband FMFKID,if you want to give AEM EMS a shot let me know.
yes i just drove around with the auto tune and drove around for roughly 1500-2000 miles like that. plus i got around 25mpg with that tune with 740cc injectors
where you boosting also during this? For your injectors…did you simply select the ones from the "primary injector wizard " and thats it? then automap?
yes i rolled into boost a few times but never for a long period of time. and yes all i did was select my injector size then automapped it
the auto tune will be good enough to get you around. but like others said, i wouldn’t use it all the time. just do it so you can at least drive it around and get it to someone who knows how to tune it
I heard that the auto tune was real good,
i was talken to some canadian and tuned a car with it and when he stuck it on the dyno it was perfect
how many pounds are u gonna be running anyway?
9 PSI
I am installing the hardware on thursday…here is what is done so far:
AEM EMS Installed and running on AEM basemap(included w/ the module)
AEM Wideband purchased and picked up today(for 150 )Can’t install till downpipe is on.
Drilled holes on downpipe and NEW oil pan for both bungs(one o2 and oil return)-will be welded tomorrow.(didn’t want to use stock oil pan)
Fitted all the coolant hoses for the turbo
fitted all the oil lines for the turbo
Walbro fuel pump installed
boost gauge installed
MSD 6AL ignition and coil installed
Accell 8mm wires
tomorrow i will try to put the RC Eng 440’s in after ohm testing them, and giving them a run.
I m thinking to install the hardware will take me about 8 hours. It is a custom made log style manifold, garrett T3 turbo, custom 2.5 " downpipe/w flex, mild steel 2" charge piping, side mount intercooler.
When summer comes and the body kit goes on I will switch over to a FMIC and aluminum charge piping.
I already have a stage 2 clutch and 8.5lb flywheel so that should be ok.
I am in search of poly motor mounts, as my accord felt like it was going to drop axles with just the nitrous.
The ZEX kit will be installed on the intercooler only.
Will be tuned for 9 PSI at hybrid dynamics either next week or the first week of january(weather permitting). I have my fingers crossed on the charge piping and turbo as they came from a used setup. The turbo is very clean with NO shaft play. I will be running at stock fuel pressure as well. Stock internals, but a F23 build will begin ASAP. I already have a long block waiting.
Any tips from anyone that may ease my install would be greatly appreciated. There are so many aspects to look at…very mind boggling. Making sure you have every last clamp, hose, etc. Hopefully I break into the 13’s LOL
Got any pics??
