I’ll go toss up the poll because I find that pretty hard to believe seeing as we live right on an international border. I’m guessing pretty much anyone with enough disposable income to play at track days already got some form of ID to cross the border.
have it at dino bbq and i will attend my first nyspeed meet lol. i have been cravinggg that bbq since the taste of buffalo.
ill be going there thursday. after i pick up my miata
What about people from rochester ? we have to remember everyone isnt from buffalo here lol
The vast majority are. If you are from Rochester you can cruise out, it’s only 60 miles.
i liked the chestnut ridge meet. Letchworth was also a blast with man-jam. I don’t mind spending a whole day doing whatever as I usually plan it that way. Chestnut ridge is good because it’s well within everyone’s tow limit too!!! =)
Anyone have any other suggestions besides chestnut ridge?
We had one at Emery County Park once and it was a fun drive since it’s at the end of the 400:LINK
It’s not super far away, but I don’t remember there being much room.
Are you going to bring that sweet car in your sig?
Damn, that reminds me I still need to order parts
Swap out chestnut ride with letchworth? It had a great turnout and would make a nice first Group event for the summer, get some people out from behind their screens and introduce themselves to other members. Resurrect some man-jam action and a great scenic drive. Its a cheap thing to do that kinda commits your whole day to driving an having fun.
Edit// Not that you guys would need my help it, but Id be glad to do it if needed.
i can supply 2 or 3 kan-jam’s
I’m not knocking the Glen/Toronto/Woodward but I liked Art Park and Chestnut Ridge as they are local to WNY. Personally, I like the “one day” events as I am pretty tied up most of the time and it is hard to get away for 2-3 days. But I would drive a few hours one way and come back the same day.
There are some good sized shelters/lots on the south side of Emery Rd. 21 was a good shelter. Plenty of parking around it. My company had a picnic at the Ski Lodge which held about 200+ without a problem but that might be overkill.

I can scope it out more if needed Josh.
Some other locations could be:
Como Park
Buffalo Naval Park (No Cooking Probably)
Darien Lake State Park
Ellicott Creek
Fort Niagara (This would be pretty cool)
Or, we could always do a beach meet. Even though Lake Erie Beaches suck Woodlawn would be pretty cool to have a meet there. If we want water access there is Sherkston Shores…?
Evangola State Park isnt too bad, another thought I guess. The Great Lakes GTG was there wasnt it?
Chestnut ridge is a great spot, we had the WNYfbody cookout there last year.
i say this…
or this. the first sounds like an amazing idea but if thats not possible, chestnut ridge was perfect for the wnyfbody cookout.
chestnut ridge worked out well the last time we used it, minus the shitty weather.
For some track updates, see this thread: http://www.nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1576111
I’ve changed the poll here as well. If you’re interested in going to Chestnut Ridge for the spring meet, vote for it! If not, suggest another place. So far it looks like Chestnut Ridge is the most popular from this thread.
Voted for Chestnut Ridge
It’s looking like Chestnut Ridge. Lechworth was a bit far and the weather that year was VERY agreeable as I remember, which is why I think it did so good. Not to say anything of the group of members that were around then were very different from now ( job/life status and so on).
I’m thinking of picking a sunday toward the end of April/beginning of may… So we have the dates as the 18th, 25th, 2nd, and 9th. We will also pick a day with the following week being a rain day.
The cruise being from mighty on sheridan and eggert to the ridge starting the meet at 12:30 and leaving at 1.
Then a slow under the speed limit legal cruise there. Exact route TBD
Then we hang out at chestnut ridge until 5ish or whenever you feel like leave before the park closes.
As far as food I’m thinking of talking to a hotdog/hamburger vendor to just make it and we buy from him. Unless someone has a better idea. I don’t want to worry about it. If we have someone of the forum who can do it or hook us up with someone that won’t over charge or be an ass.
Any and all of this is subject to change as nothing is set in stone but, I want to do something this year. I plan on doing a nice informal/ formal NYSpeed spring meet.
Keep in mind Mike that the Blown Euros meet is tentative for that 18th, and the last few meets have been more at the end of May.
As for food, if someone wants to take on the task we can sort it out. I know tpgsr is way to busy to cater again. Otherwise it will just be a “bring your own” event.
