all of a sudden my clutch starting acting really weird. It will engage into gear with no problems. when i take my foot off the clutch nothing happens… then all of a sudden the clutch engages and it takes off, but if i get hard on the gas it will just slip like crazy. its like there is a super delay in the engagement. the clutch was replaced last summer as well as the slave. so what im thinking is that there is fluid leaking past the internal seal of the piston in the master cylinder. I have looked at the slave and there is no fluid leaking and it seems to be moving properly. there is plenty of clutch fluid as well. any ideas???
Maybe your tranny is going… Had the same problem before with another car… and it was automatic… Took it in to Tranny shop they told me it needed a new tranny sold the car as is lost a piss load of money end of story.
Try using the Lucas Tranny Repair Non Slip stuff I know it smooths everything out for me for a while…
i highly doubt that the tranny is causing this problem. this is a 5spd… not automatic, btw.
clutch new last summer and well as resurfaced flywheel. the slave is also brand new as of last summer. and i haven’t driven this car in 4 months. and of course i wasn’t in the car when this happened, so im not sure under what circumstances it was caused. but i took it out after and this is what happened to me. yeah im still leaning towards master, just cause everything else is new.
feels almost like the clutch is slipping cause the master is still holding the slave out. maybe the oil is being trapped behind the piston in the master when it tries to come back causing the clutch to be half engaged.
okay so its not the master. When i push on the clutch the release lever kind of twists and jams itself so that it holds the clutch half released. it will not fully return because of the twiting action. so what im thinking now is that the little clip that hold the lever onto the relase bearing housing has slipped off, or is only holding on one side. This ever happen to anyone else??? i am going to try to fix it through the hole in the tranny, cause i really dont want to drop the tranny.
do u feel any pressure on the pedal , same thing happened to my car , it was the slave , we had to bleed it for like a half hour to get all the air out of the system.
yeah i swapped in another slave and it did the same thing. i think it has to do with the release lever jamming in place, and holding the clutch half engaged. so far i have a brand new master, 1 year old slave, and bypassed dampening valve.
ok i dropped the tranny a few days ago and found that the sleeve that holds the release bearing had turned slightly, and the release fork was only pushing on one side. I guess this was causing it to bind up and stay half engaged. anyhow i put on a spare tob and sleeve making sure it couldn’t turn in the fork, and now she works like new.
