Hello McFly? You only need a 2 year degree to be a vet tech, and it certainly doesn’t have to be at Cornell.
It’s not your fault dude. She’s done, which is fine. Sometimes shit just doesn’t work. It just sucks that she can’t suck it up and say that, but rather tries to put it on you.
It sucks that that’s how she’s ending it, but whatever. There’s no “good” way to end an 8 year relationship.

wow yes, your 100% right, i didn’t realize this for a couple weeks afterward and i found out all the other stuff that was going on, then it all made sense and was a lot easier to deal with
she just doesn’t have the balls for whatever reason to up and tell you what her plans are, not fair to you to sit around and wait for her, go out and have fun man

i went through a similar situation a few years ago. actually it was the exact same situation. only we had been dating 4 years, not 8. at the time i was pretty upset, but a week later i got drunk and banged a quasi-fatty. i then pulled myself out of the slump and whored myself out to many girls. i had the time of my life. then i met a chick who was a billion times better than my ex. we went through some hard times together. it is now 2 years (almost to the day) and we are still together and happy. i’m 100% better off than i was.

As much as I should be kicked in the balls for saying it’s a bad idea, it’s a bad idea. Don’t burn bridges. You’ll never be with her again, but you’ll be happy being able to look back knowing that you left with class when she was afraid to tell it straight. And that’s not to totally bash her. It’d be scary as hell to end something you’ve had for eight years, but it’s also unfair to put it on you. Whatever. Shitty situation with no “good” way out.
