well looks like i was right. bent rod
cyl 1 compression was 510
cyl2 was 510
cyl 3 was 300
cyl4 was 500
all the glow plugs were sooted up except 3… no soot, nothing… fuel wasn’t being burnt.
now i just gotta pull the head and see if the cyl walls are fucked on 3 or not

A cummins ISB is common rail dude. Gets up to 24,000 psi on the rail.

Lol. I just wanted to make sure nobody is going to hurt themselves playing around with common rail. If you don’t let the pressure in the fuel system come down and crack a line it can blow a hole through your hand. Literally.

today i ordered a south bend stg3 endurance disk
and a boost valve to help protect the turbo from the notorious spiking/sticky VNT vanes ( even though mine are cleaned up)
unfortunatly the car won’t be back up and going till tuesday next week at the earliest because the clutch disk won’t be here till monday

sooo quick update:
tranny disconnected from dead motor ( one i’m using)
turbo disconnected from bad motor (one i’m using)
southbend ofe stage 2 disc came in today
bought a new TOB bearing, FW bolts and new PP bolts
picked up my FW from woody today
tommorrow i’m dropping off the FW at napa first thing in the AM before class
swapping turbos from bad motor to good motor
taking sway bar out of the wagon.
so hopefully i will be driving by wed afternoon or 100% by thursday afternoon.
wheels and coils friday most likely.
